I'm running XP Pro, Home, Mandrake, 98se, and sometimes 2000 for support, can I vote for all of them?

98se has got to be one of the most stable, wizard-free windows os's ever.

i have been running it for as long as i remember having a windows comp. and it hardly ever crashes.

turns out that microsoft can make good os's

that was a joke.. right?! :worried:

man, 98 was shocking. what system are you using?! its a slow operating system using outdated and poor file systems, combined with a complete lack of plug and play features. and stable?! it falls over at the slightest challenge.

Hehe, I ended up choosing ten different options.

Win 95 -- technically I don't use it, but I have an operational computer that uses it (and I occasionaly turn it on for no reason :D)
Win 98SE -- another older machine, was still in regular use untill recently (and a laptop)
Win ME -- same as above
Win XP Home - 3 machines with XP Home
Win XP Pro -- 2 machines with XP Pro
Linux Debian -- its got a small partition on an old laptop
Linux Gentoo -- takes up the rest of the hdd on the older laptop above
Linux Mandrake -- running on a newer laptop along with 98
Linux Redhat -- was in regular use on my main machine, but have started using suse more since redhats recent "change"
Linux Knoppix STD -- very cool since its all on a single CD, I use it at public computers :p

All these and I still don't have a mac! Too damn expensive (actually, I'd rather spend the money on a high-end PC :p)

You forgot to add Windows XP Embedded (and XP Media Center and Tablet PC Edition - they are all based on XP Pro, but someone might just add them). I almost used XP Embedded for my carPC but it is a pain to get working correctly. I am using XP Pro on my laptop, carPC and my main rig. My Shuttle HTPC runs on SuSE 9.1 Pro. Got an old laptop still running Windows 98SE.

    may as well add:
    Server 2k3 - Enterprise
    Server 2k3 - Standard
    Server 2k3 - Web
    :p

Im currently running XP Pro on all 3 rig at my house (one including a 333mhz P2, and it runs xp :hip:)
stable as hell once you've got all the updates :p

i used to run dual boot xpPRO/server 2k3 Enterprise, but trashed server 2k3 becuase the whole OS is optimed for cache speed, not your active program, and gets annoyingly laggy at times.
