Wow, Nvidia is basically screwed because I doubt that they can match the performance of the HD5870 at the $399 price point.
The watermark's annoying, but I've gotta say it looks really sleek to me, and the spec is awesome. I think I'll plump for a 5850 around Christmas. If those benchmarks are real: .
Holy crap, those benches are awesome if they are to be believed, and to think they're probably with immature drivers as well. Did anyone find out the length of these cards? I'll have to look at the reviews to see if there's any problems with heat/noise etc., but I'll hopefully get one of these once the price drops a bit. It looks like being late to the party is really going to hit nVidia hard this round.
looks really impressive if any of these benchies are correct, just hope that cooler is up to the task

Does any one the answer these questions as I am interested in upgrading my case to the 800d soon and the gpu as well. 1-If we go ATI for the dx11 route.. , how does ati deal with GPU Physics as Nvida has special software and drivers in this area, is it a case of just simply not having that portion of games or will games still have it but put added load on the cpu gpu? 2-I was considering triple screen with a triple head to go, how does ATIs new screen spliting technology face off vs matrox triple head here...? Im really interested im this. Long live the PC market.
1) If your on about physx, ATI doesn't have it... however only 14 games support it really. But everything else just runs as it would when built into the game. 2) Not too sure dont use dual+ monitors. _____ Oh my god, if they are real then ATI just made me jizz in my pants.
Which will be about 2cm longer than the 4870, then. That shouldn't be a problem, although I've been eyeing up the Lian-Li P50 anyway
aww crap....please will someone tell me if that will fit in an antec 902? really cramped but will work?
It might do, seeing as this time they've put the power cables in the right place (the top of the card, rather than the end) which should make life a bit easier.
Erm, another update that I don't think has been posted yet. PCGHX has 3 pictures of the 5870 disassembled here (that photo and the next two). Also, some screenshots of Eyefinity with HL2, NFS: Shift (the new one, not out yet), TES: Oblivion, and some other stuff here. Edit: Oh, and some proper pictures of the card with six output leads (at the bottom of the page)
