I'd advise against trying to make any serious money. The only people who will do that are those who just get extremely lucky, and those that understand the whole thing better than anyone else.

For a bit of fun... technically it is towards a worthwhile cause (the work done is vital to the currency in ensuring the system can't be abused), but...

Saw that link, even had it open in another tab :duh:, the a10 5800k gets 104 mhash/s at stock which is pretty good considering that matches a 6670 (equivalent discrete card) according to the wiki page. Free electricity Cheesecake :rock:

Just come across an error trying to setup the apu which says JSON could not be decoded, any ideas, and do you need a separate login for slush when you are using a 2nd pc, or do you use the same user and password that it gives you when you login?

Bit-tech have a folding team so there is no reason why we couldn't set up a bitcoin mining team! Admins can we please :D

I don't mind hosting it depending on the requirements, I'll post my server specs later once I've compared pool server software

What driver have you got installed?

Nope you can add miners at the bottom of your my account page

And then add the login details to your miner program

It ran an autodetect with catalyst control centre and I believe it is at 13.1 at the moment, will check when I am back on it (only 1 keyboard and mouse between the 2 PCs so takes effort).

I will try and add the login details and see if that fixes anything, it may be because I was trying to run it as the same worker username.

Edit: adjusting the worker login seems to have fixed it, running at 80 mhash/s atm!

I've heard there are issues with 13.1, I'm using the 13.3 beta drivers without issues. If you find you have problems try the betas and be sure to run driver sweeper/cleaner after the uninstall.

    Glad you got it working

I had 13.3 and it wouldn't work and its a pita to fully remove all driver files!

I ended up reinstalling windows!

    I'm on 12.11 beta

A good 2 hours or so now on the 7950 and a bit less on the apu as had to get it set up. Pretty rubbish to be honest :sigh:.

ah dont let it bum you out, think of it across a day, then a 30 day month :)

i noticed last night that i could have both my cards mining and still do day to day tasks/browsing/light gaming on my rig while it was going. apart from the noise it makes it a bit more lucrative to do than having my machine idling for nothing.

It has however sparked my interest in getting some more fans or possibly even gpu watercooling.

I was just about to say the same, 20p and hour, that's £4.80 a day, 30 days is £144 per month

Say if it running 16 hours a day still worth is as you have no costs :p

I'm sure water cooling will be worth it, but its an extra cost?

Watercooling is definitely a future interest, plus then I can probably get a 2nd card or just upgrade completely :D. Only thing is getting the watercooling set up without being noticed (if you know what I mean). Once it is in the computer it may as well be invisible but getting it in discreetly is a nightmare.

16 hours a day is good though! Plus hopefully the value of bitcoins will keep going up as per the last month or so.

Not sure if its worth it from a hassle perspective, but from a "being able to hear" perspective, its cheaper than a hearing aid haha :)

Just got to put the pc in the middle of the room and we are sorted :D. In fact, if I connect the watercooling up to the mains (with a filter or two) I can use it to heat up water for a shower . My 7950 is at 92 degrees at the moment so it will be boiling hot!

Or alternatively wear earbuds to bed, but even a tiny reason to move to watercooling is good for me!

That and my server under my desk hasnt been doing a lot lately either (having said that, when my geckos occaionally lay eggs i use the top of the case to provide the heat for incubation box to keep their eggs warm! :))
