    Quizz Kid,

Wasn't sure if the text was enough so I took some pics.
This shows both pieces, the base of the Router and the pivot point along with the support. On the work is the fixed portion with the peg.

Just put the router base's pivot point over the peg and lower the plung router. Actually, much easier than I thought it would be.

Here is a close up of the base. You'll see the pivot point better.

Also, make sure you round the corners of the fixed base, otherwise your bit will eat into the plexiglass and heat up and cause quite a mess.

Sorry to all, it has been over 2 months since my last post. One reason was to finish my other projects first and the other was trying to figure out the back plane for the case. I can't simply attach the MoBo to the wood frame, because as the wood expands it would put pressure on the MoBo screw holes and cause them to crack. The wood could expand or contract up to 1/8 of an inch.

here is a shot of the bottom of the case with the access hole to be wrapped in Mahagony.

Here are the sides about to be cut with a rabbet for the lid.

    First cut done.

Here is the lid, before it was cut to size.

This is a shot into the case from the front (not in place). The bottom with the access panel is in the foreground.

Here is a high angle shot, showing the top in place and an 1/8th of an inch proud.

Here is a picture of the fiddleback maple starbusrt for the top.

Here it is cut into a circle.

Hope you enjoy! and Happy New Year!

So I finally had some time this morning to get in the shop and finish a few things.

I figured out the expansion and contraction of the wood case. Especially the back which supports the Mobo. I cut some 1.5" mahagony in the same grain pattern as the back. and then aligned them with my Mobo template.

    Aligned them on the left.

Then coutersunk the screws and elongated the holes. I also put in the wood screws to hold the Mobo setoff screws.

Here is the Mobo mounted to the back.

This was working, up until about a week a go. The capacitor blew. I think the PSU went first and then the capacitor. Anyway, it is now a good template for aligning the mounting screw holes.

    Now for the bottom.

After I put the body together, I knew I would need some more air in there.

So here is the rough layout.

Over at the drill press. I lowered the speed down to 200 rpms... still moved pretty fast for such a big cut.

Back on the work bench. Had to drill the holes for the screws.

    120mm fan mounted.

I also worked on the mounting bracket for the drives.

Just a simple aluminum angle iron did the trick

mounted to the side and elongaged the holes and then drilled 4 holes for HDs. Lined up perfectly.
