    g-gnome,

Everything is looking really good so far. I can't wait to see the completed project.

As for all you folks you can't seem to read :search: . G-gnome just ignore questions you have already answered. and state that fact at the bottoms of your replies.

Gnome is right, the casing itself acts as a ground terminal. Just make sure that you wire the +V to the center pin and that the place where the plug is going is grounded, or you actually ground the casing itself.

    My Camera

My first digital camera - a Sony Mavica MVC-CD500 5.0 Megapixel. Takes 8cm CD-R/RW and I get 250 images on a disc shooting at around 1.2 Megapixel. It has a fantastic quality lens. I do try and light my candy shots well but the rest are just the on-camera flash as I mostly mod in the evenings after work so the light is pretty poor. I'll be using a tripod soon so I can light things a bit better. These project shots are only the second time I have shot digital and I am still coming to grips with this camera (I still need to do a bit of experimenting with the settings to try and recreate some tricks I do with my film camera). I have to make a confession though, 2 years studying photography at college and seven years working as a professional photographer shooting advertising and magazine editorial helps ;) though I do something else now...(when I eventually get my website up I'll have a section on my photographic work as well as my case modding).

As for blurry close-ups - use a camera (or lens) with a Macro focus capability. My digital camera has it built in and I have a couple of macro lenses for my 35mm kit as well - you just can't beat 'em for the ultra close shots. I believe the key to a good photograph is composition, lighting and a good quality lens (sharp and with nice contrast) - so it's 2/3 you and 1/3 your gear - but sucky camera still equals sucky pics (it's the bottleneck in the system!).

    Orac³

I have decided to ammend the name of this project to Orac³. I had a think and wanted to distinguish mine from the original - It's my own Orac in a C³ case so Orac³ blends the two concepts together nicely. It might just save me getting sued by the BBC as well ...:worried: Err ... I'll think I'll just pop back to my workshop now and keep modding ...

I can't believe I've missed this thread for 4 days :waah:

But now I've looked I'm just as impressed as when I saw the first batch of photos; absolutely stunning workmanship and attention to detail again G-gnome. "You da man" as they say :thumb:

I think we need to start a special G-gnome fan club

Btw G-gnome, would you sue me if I would use shower hose for my PSU cabling, just as I've been planning to do for months now? ;)
