    Meh, another FPS game.

How's this going to be different than anything else out there?

    it's Battlefield.

it's got specifically designed PC features.

and it's not another consolfied CoD copy.

    Exactly ;)

I'm actually tempted to get this for both PC and a console....

    Exactly!

But more seriously, Bad Company 2, whilst good isn't a true representation of the Battlefield series and was more a step towards trying to compete with CoD in its own arena.

More PC orientated features (hopefully) include:

Commander Mode - One player gets a top down view of the map and gets to issue orders that squads can follow (for more points). Generally it gives a more strategy to the game since the Commander can see objectives and the "bigger picture" to help with decision making (like is there already another squad going to cap a certain point, is there a nearby squad who can help defend a point etc.)

Commo Rose - The BC2 implementation of this was rather rubbish IMO... or pretty much non-existent. It's a Circular menu which details various phrases such as "Need Health/Ammo/Ride" to other more basic things such as "Sorry/Thank You". The main benefit was that you could just "say it" rather than having to find a team member playing the relevant class in order to get the context-sensitive command. Also, once you broadcast, the relevant class would then get a little beacon/highlight of you, showing that he needed assistance.

All in all, it meant for a more tactical and team based game, whereas with Bad Company 2 it's a lot about whether or not you're lucky enough to find a team/squad that works together.

If the network support is there, the engine is nicely optimised to allow for a wider player base (does not mean crappy console port of engine, though they have officially stated that the PC is their flagship platform), and the mechanics are akin to BF2, then this is going to steamroll the FPS market on PC.

24 player limit on consoles! HAH! Eat it. 64-player PC servers, hell yes.

i gota feeling its going to be uncapped for PC, or at least when/if the mod tool is out, BF2 had servers of 128 after a few months of release, but not ranked.

Anyone know if this is a Steamworks? I have pre-ordered it on Amazon but would prefer it on Steam (although I doubt they will do the LE for thirty notes).
