Well I'm hitting around 100F on Coretemp without folding and it's pretty cold in my room too around 119F folding with 1 core around 132F folding with 2 cores around 141F folding with 3 cores and 149F with all 4 cores folding that's why I don't like to fold all day everyday
Not to be mean but I'm rearranging the hardware in my "daily use" machine to get another 4,000ppd, though I have had to take off the OCs on my folding rig for the time being... see ya soon mate
7.30 am in the morning after peaking at 32.5 C yesterday aftre leaving the doors open and a through ventilation between some windows all night. I start the day at 19.2 C I guess you guys in ths USA are more used to higher temps than us in the UK
Well my temps as follows not changed that much even though it is hot... Core temp showing on q6700 54c-56c Gpuz showing 88c ..... Lots of 511 units and 1888 ..................
Just got in ehh well lucky me I just had 3 days off work.I am back in for 3 days then off for 3 more days ,like that all the time
I chose a bad week to have off to decorate! Ive been laying laminate flooring and painting walls, never in my life have I seen paint dry so quick, so much so if you go over a bit of wall you painted a minute before the roller gets sticky and takes paint back off the wall lol Not thread related I know but hey lol
I have been fighting to kep temps under 70'c on both machines with extra fans etc. the temp in my lounge is the highest so far in 27 years at 27.9'c and its over 51'c on my roof Just got 2 pesky 511 pointers in a row
I think we are all suffering from the excessive heat, and our folding kit! How do you know how hot it is on your roof Taffy. I thought Wales was in for some rain according to last nights weather forecast Or did they get it wrong
I have a Monitoring probe up there, and I will not be sitting on it thats for sure BTW I am not in Wales, where I should be , I'm in staffordshire, and they say that this is cooler than s wales
Yup indeed mate lol, I need to get the room done and had the week off to finish it so come rain or shine I have to finish it this week, who needs a sauna! My home machine temps today: i7 920 @ 3.8ghz is @ 69 degrees Q6600 @ 3.1ghz is @ 67 degrees OC'd GTX260 is @ 70 degrees (100% fan) 9800 GT is @ 78 degrees (100% fan) Not too sure if I like the CPU temps that high, do you think they will be ok?
My bfg 285 has been@82 most of the day and that is in a real small case ...Just gladd its starting 2 cool off a bit outside now just need some thunder 2 clear the air
At an almost chilly 27 C in here.. However, neither card on my 2 machines has ventured above 54 C. Accelero Extreme Rocks! Did hit 31 C in the room earlier with the windows shut, around 3.00pm, got a nice breeze flowing through now though.
If you're not suffering, you're not folding hard enough. Might have to invest in some new gpu coolers as the heat may have taken another 2 (although probably just the same bad batch I've had before) although that means new cases as well. Just melted a QX9650 with 2x SMP & a GPU on it. Appears to have fused to the board. Had to replace it with my spare one & board until I finish my new i7 rig
Omg it melted .....get some pics up ....that would scare me...i have set all mine 2 standard in this heat as I cant buy any more gear as of yet she would kill me ....No it is stupidly hot up here in the north west just hope none of my stuff goes down ...The worst affected seems to be my pc upstairs which has 2 gpu running ..I darnt look 2 see how hot its running but the I bet I could could an egg on the case
It's looks quite normal, but physically wont come out of the board! I think the pins have melted to cpu. It was running at well over 4GHz on air in 30-odd degree abbient temps (had her runnning at 4.8GHz on water before the loop went bad & turned to a battery (don't trust cheap scan rads & alphacola). I'd given it a hammering (used to be 12th on the cpc benchmark leaderboard before i7's came about) so it's done well but still was a £900 chip New one is @ 4GHz and 50 degrees but it's too hot to run SMP's on it (about to replace it with my new i7)
