    No, it's worth it for the free Alienware truckers hat. :D

    Of course, it wouldn't be me without some Benchmarks, Pic's, and E-peen as some would say. :D

    Generally if they are DELL OEM key's they are tagged to the motherboard, so a hdd swap should not be a problem.

    I have upgraded pc's a few times where it is basically a full new build, and the only thing that stayed was the case and power supply and used the same OEM copy of windows each time.

    All it took to activate was a simple phone call to the automated activation system for microsoft.

    Still I prefer to use my MSDN key, for either win 7 home premium 64bit or win 7 ultimate 64bit.

    I reckon a humourous pic will be in order.

    I've upgraded loads of PC's with OEM keys without any problems. If I have to phone them and speak to a operator, I will just say the HDD died, so I had to reinstall windows on it. :)

    Thanks :)

    That would be very hard, as I'm with it 24/7 when working. All places I go to have CCTV where we load and unload. :)

    Now you are asking to much! I don't even think hats suit me. :D

    Right, I got a response back from Dell, but it's bad news as such...

    The problem is, the discount is only related to the M18X with the Dual GTX675's. So no 10% Discount for me. :(

    Me;

    Hi, I put a order in for a M18x, with a few upgrades. After I did this, I
    forgot to add this coupon HN$H2V11XKF43? For 10% off.
    Instead of refunding me the differences, or having to cancel my order, to
    create a new one. Can I have some free upgrades, like a Blu-ray drive,
    Alienware back pack, and a 256GB SSD, along side the 500GB HDD that I have
    ordered?

    Dell;

    They Phoned me and stated they couldn't do anything due to the promotion on specific hardware.
    They then said, "We can put your order on hold if you want to think about it?, we will Email you to confirm this"

    Me;

    Hi,

    I would like to continue with the order. But as a good will gesture, it
    would be nice if you could chuck in some freebies. As the amount I'm over
    paying without the discount I have missed out on, would show true customer
    support.

    Maybe you could forward this on to someone more senior who has the power of authority.

    Kind Regards,

    Mr TG.

    Dell;

    Thank you for your quick response.

    It's nice to know that you still want to continue with the order. Rest assured that I am keeping track of your order will update you in case of any change.

    With regard to your request for freebies as a goodwill gesture, we have to check on what we can do for you about that.

    That sounds promising! I hope they will deliver...If they do, then this will show true customer support, and will give others proof of true customer service. :)

    Seems, you won't void the warranty when adding HDD/SSD and RAM. Dell even give you a guide of how to...

    I will have to see when this comes. If I'm satisfied with it, then my Rig will be up for sale. As it doesn't seem to justify it being sat there all week, not being used. :)

    You could sell the missus instead...:eeek:

    I really hope you don't have a one bedroom place, if so I think she is justified in wanting a bedroom back.

    Back to the serious stuff, what did Dell offer?

    Haha, no we have a 3 bed house. The spare room, which has my PC in it, is causing no harm. But in her eyes, she see it a spare bedroom for guest when they stay...:rolleyes:

    Ha, my PC does take the whole width of the room. :D

    Why three 256GB SSD?

    Could plumb for at least one 512GB in that mix!
