Upon completion the first unit earned approx 532K. It lost about 14K during the 95 mins it took to upload the results file. 230MB !!!! To confirm RedFlames response anyone can use the bigbeta flag. Give it a go Rob, it's all above board (I think ).
only thing i like about my uni internet connectoin, the download speed is soooo slow at about 0.5mbps but the upload is at around 6-8mbps
Cheers Red/Phoenicis, I Swapped my SR-2 and 970 over to -bigbeta with -advmethods but I've been repeatedly been getting normal A3 cores which is a bit annoying as im loosing 80,000 odd PPD from now doing bigadvs Are any of you using the -advmethods with -bigbeta and getting the beta projects ok?
Keep the bigbeta flag but remove the advmethods. I haven't picked up a 6903 since yesterday morning but there doesn't seem to be a shortage of 6901s.
Just completed my first P6903 - 438,530 points for 2 days work. Then got a P6901 The Langouste upload/download decoupler is certainly worth having. The P6903 ended at 10:23 am, and the P6901 started at 10:26 am, so hardly any folding time lost. The results upload in the background took at least 30 minutes.
Cheers guys, have dropped the -advmethods flag but not picked one up yet. Also I've heard about the Langouste jobber, what does it do, grab a new WU while it uploads the previous one or something?
going off Chris's explaination it works a bit like the v7 client, it downloads a new unit when the current one is at say 99% so when it finishes it starts on the new one and uploads the finished one in the background. basically you're not having to wait for the finished WU to upload [which from what i hear takes a while on bigadv] before you get a new one.
woooop woooop picked up beta P6903 on my SR-2, reporting 315,000 PPD at just over 22 mins a frame Thanks for that Red, just what I thought
I've just got a p2689, I guess that is not one of these beasts? HFM doesn't recognise it even after updating points for projects malarky, so cannot tell!
Had a couple of P6903's which have given me a nice PPD bump but back to picking up normal Bigadv's at the mo on the SR-2 and 970 so might be a shortage of the Beta's...
Is there any kind of tie in to the Client version with the BIGBETA flag? I've been running it almost continuously and can't get anything other than 6900's.... I'm using the Windows Client 6.34 (the one that runs in a "dos" box)
Some clients [and cores] are apparently only delivered to the v7 client, don't know if this is one of them though.
