Bit-Tech ... when are we getting the 8800GT , I mean Titan review ? ... Saying that , come on, the embargo only lifted an hour ago, in days gone by we'd of been waiting for next months magazines for any info.
-SPOILER- After reading the benchies cover me in dissapointment. It's a great single GPU card, but for the price it's totally overpriced and then some.
The whole point of Titan is that it's supposed to be an exclusive card. It's not worth more than twice as much as a GTX680, in the same sense that a Rolls-Royce isn't worth twice as much as an S-Class. But people will still pay for the privilege.
Just read anandtechs review. Its a super card but for the money I would get the 2x680GTX's (or a 690GTX) without question. I know people always say a single fast GPU is best but I haven't had a single problem with my 2x570GTX's. Sli works fine.
I don't think its purpose is to beat 2x680's or a 690, correct me if i got it wrong. But i think its aimed at those who don't want the high power draw of SLI or dual GPU boards with the reducing in heat that comes with lower power and reduced noise. As ppl have said it more of your Rolls-Royce of cards rather than a Dodge Viper
Yeah, I thought it might hold it's own from a thermal and power consumption standpoint, but the 690 doesn't seem that far adrift. There's no doubt it's an awesome single GPU card, and although stupidly expensive for the performance on offer, but Shirty is spot on - it's priced as a luxury product.
Would love to know the mark up price on this card. Think it would scare the lot of us. Will wait for the ebbs off the year or early next year for the new amd, out the 700 series nvidia.
I'm starting to genuinely worry for the welfare of the Bit staff. I mean, it's not like there are any other big stories coming up, so you'd have thought they would at least have published their of this one review on time... I hope they're alright.
Probably lost in the EPICNESS of Tri GTX Titans on their triple 2560x1440 monitors maxing every game out...(That's my theory...)
well they may have burnt it out overclocking it and are still on the phone to Nvidia trying to explain how they burnt out an £800 card
will stick to the 690 (although may have to come up with a new pet name for it ...Hephaestus, Tartarus or something as equally cool as TITAN..)
