I found the piece, it was still in the box. Some tape must have held it in there when I turned over the box.

I like the whole kit type units. Any idea where they can be obtained from on this Island?

Yes please do tell, I've been looking all over for some too, also where did you get the metal pipes?

Hard to see what it's gonna be like in the end right now, but it's certainly unique

It is just a frame that will be covered with other materials and yes lots of squarepipe, about 13 meters.

I bought it in The Netherlands at Rainforest-frogs

It not only looks big, it IS big! 460x620x650 mm (W,H,D)
It's smaller than on these photos now. I shortened some profiles after I took these photographs. I was not sure on some measurements at the time of building the frame, so I made it bigger to be at the safe side. But still it is BIG :D and I think an elephant can sit on it without breaking it. Of course the frame will hardly be visible in the endresult. Right now I feel like I'm 6 again, playing with the clay. Still waiting for the materials to start making the polyester parts.
Next month I will pause this mod for 4 weeks, back to Australia again, backpacking :cooldude: I just love that country.

    Hi all,

    great mod going on here.

I've just got one question and that is if anyone knows a shop in belgium ( close to the center) that sells that connector pieces. I've got a custom case planned too but I need those profiles and those connector pieces for that.
So does anyone know a shop where I can buy them?

    Thanx

    Sjeeske

I see you live in Belgium, so you could just order those pieces in the webshop from www.rainforest-frogs.nl

I'm still waiting for some glassfibre so I used my time to make some sketches.

The light grey is brushed aluminium ( left overs from the Lian Li mod ) The orange/brown is wood. The powerbutton will light up and the two bumps to the right are the power leds. The same shapes and materials will come back in the other devices like the M-PLAY 2002, the Aquaero and the DVD recorder.

Very interesting mod so far, love the frame and how easy it was to put together! Makes building your own case from scratch a lot less hassle, i want to try it now. Will be watching this, AlumaxX is one of my favourite looking casemods ever :D

The sketch is great too, if it looks as nice as that once built it will be sweet as..

Now this is off to a good start!
Looks real nice, and am interested how these profiles will turn out to work in the final result. Love your sketches!

Very nice sketch, will the brushed aluminium be rounded on the ends, also? It'd look a bit out of place if it were a 90 degree cut as you have sketched it. :p
