Motors What car(s) do you realistically aspire to own in the future?

Haha, good work. Back to a sensible title.

This afternoon has got my mind wandering back to big V8's... So now I fancy this beauty (among many muscle cars I'd own if I was Jay Leno-rich of course)

Just think of the noise and tyre smoke (and fuel bill)!

£35,000 has been flying around, so I could a second hand one a few years later, before I get old and get a boring car.

 

Wut? I don't own one yet! I might have one by the end of next year, but I have only bought a couple of very small parts so far, no car or engine yet!

If I don't stop spending money on other stuff, I might not have mine until 2017 either! It's been an expensive week so far I'm working late tonight, tomorrow and Saturday to make up for it >.<

 

Ideally, I will never own another car. Haven't had one for 28 years now.

 

In other words, if you're a billionaire, there is no such thing as a dream car? Or what was a dream car when you were poorer is no longer a dream when you're rich?

However, standard me (which is by no means a failure, just more realistic) aspires to own any of the following:

VW MK3 Golf GTI (2.0 8v)
VW MK4 Golf GTI (1.8 turbo)
Mk2 Toyota MR2
VW Corrado VR6

Any of the above would suit me, however the MK4 GTI is the most realistic. Almost bought a 2.0 MK4 GTI a month ago, but realised the fuel cost would sting, so got a 1.6 instead. Give it another couple of year though...

 

Are we still arguing about this thread?

Realistic dream car? Alfa Romeo Brerra. Probably possible for me to buy within 2 years!

Skoda Fabia VRS - cheap to run, cheap to buy, almost identical to the Polo GTI - so 180Hp from a 1.4 TSI, with a 7-speed DSG box. Should depreciate enough in another year or so to be affordable.

If I was rich I'd get a Jaguar XFR, but I doubt the budget will ever reach that far.

 

In Cork, no less! Stuff like that is a rare sight on the roads over here!

I saw an amazing white wide body S2000 the other day. A little bit of drool may have escaped What a gorgeous thing it was!

I just looked at the other photos in the link you posted - his photography is awesome. It adds so much professionalism to the ad when the photos look as good as that. What an awesome looking machine... Cheap at 17K as well!

 

I will get a 911, a 355/360/430, an Ultima, and a Maserati or some sort. My list is long.
