What if you're living the dream? Can I join in?

A while back I had one of these:

A lovely 1.7l car. Fast and fun. But kids came along and I traded it in for one of these:

It'll tackle the motorways at SPEED. I can bundle in the kids in the back, load up with food and tea bags and head off into the wilds. Lovely to come back to when cold + muddy :)

Edit: I've always wanted one of these, but they're not terribly practical for everyday use or anything really:

Dafuq is wrong with you? Caution: irrational nerd rage ITT. Chill dude, it's just harmless fun. This thread is ten times more sensible than "I hate the person above me because...." and several of the other GD threads.

    Aannd the Japanese dream continues - My three favourite Japanese cars are the ST205 GT-Four, MR2 and NSX, in that order. Feast your eyes on probably the most gorgeous JDM MR2 I've ever seen;

I recently started a thread like this on another forum, but was based around cars that, unless you end up broke for the rest of your life, would definitely grace your garage at some point.

    My top ones (today) though:

    Buy ALL THE LANCIAS!

Seriously though, they're a brilliant car that'd I'd love to own. Bar that then in the future I'll probably try to net myself an old MR2 or an NSX. The problem though is the epic resale value of NSXes. They're really expensive!

Unicorn's gonna hate me, but I've never been a huge fan of MR2's. Give me an RX7 over an MR2 any day, although the flaky rotary engine's gotta come into play then....

No hate here whatsoever, the RX7 is an awesome car and I'm a big fan as well, but the MR2 is higher on my favourites list. The rotary can be made to do amazing things in the right hands - The Putt Racing RX7 which was built by Chris and Steve themselves with help from Pettit Racing, and is powered by a bridgeported 13B rotary powerplant from Hayward Rotary is one of the fastest FD chassis in the UK and is a very reliable, competitive racing car. It's simply an amazing machine - I'd give my teeth for the opportunity to take it around Combe for a few laps! :D

No disrespect to their amazing machine and the skills it's taken to put it together, but I still think a sub-tonne big power "built" 3SGTE powered MR2, with enough aero to keep it glued through the bendy bits and an upgraded drivetrain could run rings around it. That's just my opinion though ;)

    G-reddy AZ-1 with RX-7 engine:

Can't even imagine how much work must have gone into that.

I really want a proper hardtop for my beat, like this one, (but they cost about £1k not inc shipping):

2014 Mustang RTR-C. Strange thing is, by the time it comes out, I might actually be able to afford it! :jawdrop:

Pook, I'm sure you've answered a similar question before but I'm too lazy to search :D

What sort of mileage to you do in your Mustang, and what is the fuel bill like? I Just wondered considering the extortionate cost of unleaded...
