On the SMP client? I know there is a longer pause between WUs to finalise and prepare the unit to be sent.

    Welcome to the team!

Are you running the SMP client on the C2D?

I've been having overclock stability issues with FAH. Everything runs solid at 2.7GHz but even at 2.4GHz FAH just runs into errors and dumps WUs :sigh:

I'll try running it again, i've had it running on my C2D before when it was OC'ed to 3,2 GHZ some months ago and it was performing quite stable. But i suppose it was a different version so i'll have to try to find out.

As I will only be able to start that system working on F@H tonight you'll have to wait a bit, but i'll post my findings here.

    update: seems to be stable.

Just joined the bit-tech folding team \o/
Running software on pc in sig :thumb:

So after running this for a short while, I notice it uses 25% of my cpu (or 1 core at 100%) how can i get this to max out another core or two, do I run multiple instances with same username or a different username, or is there a way to get it to use more cores as I have 4, would be nice to max the box out when im not at home =] and then reduce to 1 or 2 cores once im home and gaming?

EDIT: got smp, set affinity, better =]

This is such a great idea, I wish I had discovered and joined earlyer!

Joined, just one compy. Core 2 Quad @ 3.0 ghz. SMP client, but it only seems to be using the first core...I'll work on that and see if I can get it running properly.
Anyway, I might add an old single-core 3.0 Ghz later, but I'm currently cannibalizing it for parts, so there might not be enough left to run.

EDIT: Got the SMP client running a bit better. Set the affinity so it won't run on my first core. Balances my overall usage a bit better that way.

Aw, I joined but it's slow as a very slow thing, not even 1/2000 yet. First WU estimated to take 41 days :jawdrop:
I'm upgrading this little turd to a C2D soon tho, then I'll actually get somewhere. If I can get my old lappy online I'll get that on the task too.

When I get home I am going to add my q6600 to this, but from reading the forums, will it run on all 4 cores? or just one?

The BBC are reporting that Folding@Home has broken the petaflop barrier, thanks to the client now also running on 670,000 PS3's.

    Story here.
