I dont see PC hardware as something I _NEED_ to make a Frenkie-style casemod. Ask yourself this: are guys with big wallets and fancy sponsors by defenition good casemodders? :p

Oh I forgot a group: the guys with CnC machines and lasercutting tools too. :)

I agree 100 percent. The latest gee wizz hardware is out of date in 5 minutes but a
good mod or build lasts a lot longer. Have a look at Orac 3, now what hardware is in
that? But the work is as stunning now as when it was made.

Oh and I'm enjoying watching this project evolve, the case with or without "wings"
looks terrific. No, that's not true. I like it without wings better. :D

ROFL! I know i know, those damn wings ! i'm afraid I have more "bad" news for you: working on a tail now. More protruding impractical parts ! When does the horror stop !?

OT, the case toke a little stumble of a salontable. The wings didnt gave a wink, not only superlight, also superstrong. Wait, i have a photo to demonstrate how light it is:

On your previous update the pic of the front of the case really gave it a killer look like if it was ready to fly.

No... no exoskeleton, but the T1000 recharger attached to your neck and plugged into the mains is a dead give away :D

I definitely like it with the wings on, gives it more shape and style.

I dont know how these editors pick MOTM because there is too much good work out here.

    Thanx guys, much appriciated !

After I removed the ducttape, I stripped the excess kit.

Here I added allready a small line of kit before I track it with soap.

    Ah the mini-lasers are in.

    Awfully small !?

Only $1,54 and runs on two AA batteries.

More irritating, impractical protruding pieces added: the Tail section.
After I doodled in Sketchup, printed it out on paper.

The length was to big, so I cut quite a piece of. And ofcourse bevelled the edges.

Trying to find the 'right' way to stick it on.

And here it is, mounted and used the soap to smooth out the edges

I get a lot of advice from all sides; dont do it, do it, but longer, or higher.

First design was superpsimple but looking at the pictures I can see it not just two simple triangles. How about this:
