When I see it on shelves or on Steam for pre-order then I will believe it but until then I wont even get excited about this so I wont be disappointed when it again doesnt happen
There's videos of the playable demo from PAX all over Youtube ATM. Apparently Gearbox have only been working on it for less than a year as it was pretty much finished by 3DR and just needed polishing.
Hmm they have been "confirming" released for years... I wont hold my breath, all tho i would love it to be released.
For some reason I really want this. I mean I expect it to be extremely average but I'm fond of Duke, one of my first gaming memories was playing Duke3d at my dads work and I LOVED it. Besides, buying the legend of all vapourware is hilarious.
Actually, the Hindenburg was largely successful, operating between 1936 to 1937 and flying transatlantic to North America and Brazil. The accident itself was a combination of arrogance on the part of Pruss, putting the ship into a tighter turn than recommended by Eckener, and adverse weather conditions at the landing site. An amazingly good book to read if you're into rigid airships would be "The Golden Age of the Great Passenger Airships: Graf Zeppelin and Hindenburg" by Harold Dick. Probably the best as he was actually the American representative of the Goodyear-Zeppelin joint venture, and wrote from first hand experience of the ships. Sooo, yeah...
That honestly looks stunning - and well more than what I think anybody was expecting to see. Without knowing too much about the story, the only real parallel I can draw between that trailer and other games would be the likes of Half-Life. DNF would seem to be a nice little first person shooter with a problem-solving side, a penchant for exploration, and kick-ass vehicle sections (how can you be human, and not want to drive a monster truck with Duke at the wheel?). So assuming we've got a well-worked story, with some real exposé thrown in, I'd hazard a guess at DNF being a rather solid game. Then again, it is just a four-minute long trailer, so I could be talking out of my ass, and it may just be the next sixty dollar pile of faeces shoved down our throats by them corporate types. Oh I do so hope my impressions are right though...
If I remember correctly, that is a fairly old trailer. The game looked quite different from the PAX footage.
XBOX omg! they must release PC otherwise there will be lots of complaints as this was always a PC title and that is where the fan base is!! Console only players will be less interested!
