    If this is just using server CPU's for its mega number crunching compared to the Chinese (and a few others being built) using GPU's then i expect this to be far more flexible in letting the scientists use it for whatever they want, GPU's tend to only like crunching certain kinds of problems and suck at others. Fortunately for them the linpack benchmarks likes GPU's so they get to sit on top for a while.

    I wasn't going to comment but I can't help myself...

    Are silly France-surrender jokes the best you can manage here? Jokes that are told every single time an article concerning France is produced fill the majority of the thread. The computer will primarily be used by the Energy Commission, and I don't really care which country/company develops the technologies for alternative energy sources.

    Oh and lulz france white flag amirite

    Sorry. Warring with a nation multiple times over the centurys and having one war last over a 100 years, kinda instils a little..jesting. Americans may not like France much, but they don't have half the reason us UK folks do. And it's all mutual..don't worry.
