    Hello!
    im Nicklas "McTw1st" Haglund,
i thought it would be a good idea to post my build log for S-K-Y-N-E-T : The Beginning here.

The idea behind this build was initially to build a small LAN friendly system, but it evolved from a home built H50 m-itx build to a dual 360 radiator build, so i never had any plans on going with a super high end m-itx gaming system, but as this build is evolving it looks like its going to be quite high end when im finished.

i asked different companies about sponsorship to help me out with the economical hit, and i thought it would be all in vain untill i got a reply from AquaTuning sayin they liked my concept and wanted to sponsor the build with what they could, not too long after that i got a reply from a swedish company called djungelapa sayin they wanted to sponsor my build with sleeving for the build, that pretty much brings us up to date, anyway enough blabber bring on the pictures!.

    Sponsors:

    Hardware:
    Intel C2D E8400
    Zotac GF8300-I-E WiFi M-ITX
    2x 2GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2
    MSI HD4830 - 512mb (will be replaced for a GTX460 1GB soon)
    Seagate Barracuda 120GB S-ATA
    OCZ ModXstreme Pro 700W
    Dual Phobya G-Changer 360 Radiators
    Dual 400mm long reservoirs
    6x 120mm Cooler-Master Excalibur fan's
    Zalman ZM-MFC1 Fan Controller

Iv probobly missed a few parts but feel free to tell me ;)

Rotate either the left or right tube so that the ports are symmetrical. That's driving me nuts!

    Looking forward to this.

The ports will be symetrical in the real thing dont worry.

Small little update: Parts ordered for the frame, still havent decided on what material to use for covers, aluminum or titanium they both costs roughly the same so =/

from a local wholesaler that's a friend of my dad's so discount prices are in effect as well ^^

its roughly 120dollar difference between the pair, per Square Meter that is.
example: i will have to pay about 250 for 2x2m aluminum sheaths and 370 for 2x2 sheaths of titanium. (side note thees sheaths are 2mm thick the 3mm is lots more expencive for some reason (almost double the price)

Seems like a lot of stress on that cpu block. Totally bad A$$ design! I need to get back to sff builds. I miss my mini gaming cube pc so much.

If you get a quote at $60-70 per squaremeter of 2mm aluminium then you're getting ripped off. You shouldn't have to pay more then $30-40 per squaremeter for it. So 2x2m would be $150-160 and not $250.

    That aside... nice concept ;)

Yeah there is allot of stress on the cpu hence i have a plastic block underneath the CPU holding the tension so the board wont flex, its only temporary thou

    Thx buddy :)

Counting the fans it would be a v6 ;) tsk tsk

Hehe i know i only said it as an example :p
    tyvm

    tyvm!

Side note: apparently due to x-mass so close by the companies that im ordering from seems to take longer than anticipated so hopefully i can start building in the week between x-mass and new years eve

Fascinating design, I really like it!

Just help me out here though. Which Sketchup motherboard are you using? It looks kind of familiar, but I can't really place it. Did you make it yourself?

Added bonus to your New Years resolution I would think. With a name like SKYNET you should find plenty of "outside the box" inspiration for the little details, rushing things reduces the possibilities. ( like jrs77's pointing out.... save here and perhaps spend there.... nice powder coat? or whatever) Look forward to this... glad you decided to post a log..... "No Fate..." :D
