If you need coal and can't find any in the ground, just cook logs straight from the tree in a furnace! Life is much easier now

Well, charcoal. It works the same as coal, just... different name.

 

Planks have the same "furnace" power and you get 4 blocks of planks from a block of wood.

Not verry long, but that is not the hold-up

I am upgrading the VM too (more CPU, more RAM). So just to be safe in am backing the whole thing up. This takes a while.

I'd like to go on record to say thanks again to XM for setting up and maintaining this unofficial survival server. It has been a lot of fun, even on plain vanilla settings. Thanks too to those who I've been online with. Barring a few minor incidents the server community has been very respectful and generally more mature than others I have witnessed.

Most 'transgressions' have been very minor, folks, and there's always the other side to what you see or think you saw. Don't get too stroppy about a few pixels, we don't even have any rules beyond the very subjective "common sense" and it would be a shame to see any significant policing being done, so just think about consequences before you act and we continue to maintain decorum.

I'd not be happy with starting out on a new map. I didn't join a community that I thought was going to wipe its server without very good cause. I'm quite happy with just plain vanilla MC, no mods, no nether, few biomes slong as the servers has good bandwidth, CPU and memory, and the people are good quality (and both Official BT and XM's have both these in spades!).

 

For some of us its either Minecraft or work, im settling for wearing out the f5 key.

 

4 planks gives you 60 seconds, charcoal and coal gives you 80 seconds. It's 33.3% more efficient.

 

Server upgrade is done, Everything up and running...

VM now has two vCPU's. One for the SMP server and one for OverViewer and the NSMP server. I think this will reduce lagg. I can now probably bump the OverViewer renders to every 4 hours or something with out any problem.

As far as i can tell this is a client update only. The server-jar file is the same size and you can connect just fine even with this new update.

Hey guys. Been following this thread and watching the Yogcast made me really want to play Minecraft. I've been playing offline for a week now and just paid up today. So please please please can I have access to this server

I absolutely promise not to do anything sh*tty on the server. Just want to build, mine and interact with people. Not quite the same alone.

We have two now, an official and a survival. I'll PM you the official one since i'm an admin on there but you'll have to ask Xtreme_machine for the survival unless he beats you to it.
