the e4500 is a pretty good chip if you can find one.. could get it up to 3 stable in one build did- 3.1 pushed to intels voltage spec but it was having issues
E2180 is definately a great chip to grab. It OC's easy to 3ghz and I am sure can push beyond. Just to add extra challenge to your budget you need to see if you can get an aftermarket cooler in there This budget thing has me thinking - my neighbour plays older games likeTotal War and his PC is real old so it struggles, wonder if I could get him a new system on extreme budget
I must say, I love this "extreme budget challenge". It makes such a change from normal build threads. Seeing how cheaply you can build a reasonable gaming system is a much harder target.
I've got an E2180 + 750W Novatech PSU. The psu has handled 2x 260GTX overclocked + overclocked 775 cpu before, imagine it could handle this £5+ postage for both? edit: I'll have to find the CPU though.
Amazing offer! I *might* have a PSU - I'll know by 6pm tonight, but I'd definitely be up for that CPU. However, while I'm doing this for as little as possible, I'd like to show people that anyone, not just people on possibly the friendliest forum on the internet can do this - so how about I give you £9 for the CPU since that's the cheapest I've seen them go for on ebay (well £12 but with heatsink and fan)
I, TheBlackSwordsMan, will gladly give you a SATA CABLE from my own reserve! T_T My contribution to this ambitious project of your. Free Shipping
I have a green LED 80mm fan going spare. Yours for the postage. Also have two 1GB OCZ DDR2 800Mhz sticks. I dunno if they work, but I can check. I also have a PCI Creative Soundblaster doing nothing right now. :3
This forum really brings the forum spirit out! I <3 this thread. So what else do you need? Don't have a lot of stuff here at uni, but if I have something at home I can send it to you.
