Here's a few I took the other day. I'm really struggling at the moment to motivate myself to go out and take pictures, I think this is because I'm not happy with the results that I get. Somehow I need to turn this into a drive to take more and so become better but I'm not sure how.
Too bad we don't have a "real fall" around here :/ I think this is it for the air show shots. None of the remaining pics are worth putting up. Stonedsurd: You're an utter ******* with those photos! They're too awesome! Shame the UK has no blue sky.. and the lens on my D3000 doesn't have the zoom to get close to what you're shooting. Great photos as usual!
I'd like to ask what the issue is, since if it's something we can help with, I'm sure people wouldn't mind. I mean, what is it about your photos that you don't like?

I'm not really sure there is much anyone can help me with to be honest, although I really appreciate the offer and I've already had loads of help from the lovely people here I'm just generally unhappy with the standard I am at and I need to put the effort in to improve but the results I get when I do discourage me and it's a bit of a vicious cycle. I need to sort my brain out I think! My deficiencies should spur me on to be better and not stop me from trying!
I get that same feeling from time to time for various reasons, blurry images, something I missed with my composition, too little or too much DOF...the list goes on... One thing that always helps me is to go shooting alone, focus on what you do, bring a tripod, use mirror lockup, use either the timer or a shutter release cable, a bean bag on your lens etc. By that I mean "making" a photo instead of just taking it. Sharpness and composition are usually way better this way, so if there's something to be unhappy about is the subject matter you've chosen. And by that I mean that I can cross off some of the things causing the usual grief for me. This method of course doesn't work for everybody, but it's worth at least a shot (pun intended) Also try shooting something entirely different from what you are used to shooting, that might hit the spot also.
I know what you're feeling threefiguremini. I think Darkened last bit of advice is solid - try something new. Failing that, go somewhere you haven't been before and see what catches your eye. Thanks mate, I think I just need to power through it! Doesn't help though with it being winter here now so dark and wet nearly all the time!
Fear not, getting the creative doldrums is completely natural. Have a read of this article I wrote: http://www.landscapegb.com/2011/06/escaping-the-rut/ There's a follow up coming soon too.

Wow love the detail of that first one, 2nd one makes me think its a highway to the stars, great work. I photoshop a lot of stuff but to me its still photo's and is art, just I look at things differently. Here is some of my work - http://ukmyth.deviantart.com/gallery/

Was driving around on the 'tard and thought, hey.. this place isn't that bad.. so I stopped and took a few shots before blasting off through those bloody red leaves. Yes, it was touched up a bit, may have pushed the red a bit too far.. but I do remember it being so red. ::edit::
Thanks Tim. You're a big inspiration to me and I'm sure loads of other people so reading things like that really help! Let us know when you do the next one!
It's an interesting shot. My first reaction was that it had been overdone, as it doesn't look natural, but I don't proclaim to have witnessed everything nature is capable of so I shouldn't judge. But the mist in the distance has quite a red tinge to it, which suggests to my novice eyes that the processing had been a bit excessive. I'd like to see the original image for comparison if I may. Still makes a great spectacle though. Thanks for posting.
Hey thanks for the reaction, yes, it is touched up quite a bit, overdone if you wish indeed. It's a far stretch from the out-of-the-cam original. Will see to post it later, cheers.
I hate this bloody weather. Absolutely hate it. And the freaking christmas decorations just run me up the wall.
