I am still going to answer your old question:
The monitor comes with a dual-link DVI cables, DisplayPort and VGA cable. So you are all setup. :)
Pretty much all DVI cables today, and all graphic card support dual link DVI, so it should not be a concern.

Apple's 27" is LED, Dell's is CCFL.. Why would you pay more for a worse monitor.

The pricing really can decide that, and it is very different in each country. For example here in Slovakia :
    HP ZR2740w - 610€
    Dell U2711 - 725€
    Apple Cinema Display 27" - 980€

Dell has LM270WQ2-SLA1, Apple has LM270WQ1, HP has LM270WQ1-SDDA, all from LG, so the differences in display itself will be very, very small.

So in my case, why pay 100€ more for a Dell display with CCFL, if i can get the HP with lower power consumption and much higher brightness range (from 28cd/m2 up to 450cd/m2) for much less? In US they are probably similar in price as someone said before. In UK it is maybe Dell which is the cheapest.

Thanks for the reply regardless. I had a look and saw that the dual link just relates to the ammount of pins. When I initially wrote dual link it came up with a double dvi cable to single end dvi cable. So I thought it was something funny to do with using both dvi outputs of the gpu.

There are many people who can argue many reasons for or against a glossy display. I swear, every time someone mentions liking a glossy display, someone always goes "hurr durr glossy screens are suxx0rz!11!!11!" without bothering to provide any reasoning for their unbiased uninformed opinion.

If there is a petition to ban glossy displays on desktop and laptop systems, consider my signature already :p

Hey guys, my new monitor just arrived, she's a cracker :D

Not the problem, I've got a GTX 460. Do I get a GTX 580, and be done, or play games on low, till kepler is released?

Wait for Kepler, you'll be kicking yourself if you don't.

I use my Dell U23llH with 2 5770 in crossfire and it is a dream. Everything looks great with a Dell screen (okay, maybe not Intel integrated - but you get the point).

I use PS3, Win 7 and Ubuntu - games never looked better!

Hey guys got a stupid question, do I have to register the monitor on line for the warranty to be valid?? Or is my receipt from amazon fine? Anyone know the answer to this 100%?

I don't know 100% but I would assume that your amazon receipt is just perfect. It is proof of purchase after all.

With any registration they could claim they never received your email or postal warranty form. There can be no disputing your purchase especially as you would of used a Credit/Debit card or Paypal.

    Anyone else know for sure?
