I've just put together my first major build (see my sig below) - it's not the most powerful but I'm frankly chuffed to bits with it. However, whilst I've tried to keep the cables as tidy as I can I'm not completely happy with it. I've used cable ties and wired around the back.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Nice rig mate very tidy, :thumb:

As someone else said, picture's would be cool and also helpful to give you some advice, but I would say it depends firstly on what PSU you have

    is it Modular? Corsair unit?

and how batcrap crazy you want to go with it, I ended up sleeving all of my cables on my Enermax PSU individually, if you don't want to go down the sleeving cables yourself for whatever reason, I would suggest the Bitfenix Alchemey Extender Cables, makes the inside of your case look lurvley :D

oh and LOTS AND LOTS OF zip ties, and don't be afraid to pull something out and try it a different way if your not happy with it, hope that cover's most of the bases until you show us a picture and can be more specific with help :)

In my thread (link in sig) there are several pics of cable tidying :) I use those extenders that Trash said about above and the braid it better than MDPC braid...

I now love the MDPC cable holders personally...

They are only available on the Corsair website currently and including tax + shipping (4 - 6days) it will cost $130...

Couple of other things I want to get first so not a priority at that price but certainly a future upgrade.

What are the relatively thin cable that are routed around the drive bays? Wouldn't it be easier to route them behind or bundle them all into one bunch?

Imo it's the front panel I/O and the fan cables that make it look cluttered. Some of those can be hidden under the motherboard etc, but other than that I don't really know what to do.

And ignore the braided stuff, the Corsair kits are ridiculously expensive and will do NOTHING to improve the situation.

I guess you are referring to the fan header cable for the side panel fan?

The main thing for me is airflow and noise... I can't see what more I could do to improve airflow, no airways are blocked apart from the HDD cage which would require a dremel

Rotating the rear fan around so the fan wire exits the fan against the case will help neaten that wire up. Likewise, mount the fan on the Dark Rock so the wire exits near the board and wrap the extra around the base of the heatsink.

All the front panel connectors can be routed around the back in a bundle. If you can get them around nicely try removing the front of the case.
I'd pull the 24pin and the PCI-E cables tighter so the loop of extra wire isn't as large.

The PCI-E cable I'd probably route from the grommet below the 24pin.

That's about all the help I can think off and it's pretty much how I did my friends R3.
