He's not saying his is better remember, but Pete, I think it would be good if you were to clarify slightly, always nice to hear what people think can be improved in a system :)

Actually my point was that his CPU is still pretty respectable, and probably doesn't need upgrading yet either, I could probably do with explaining a bit more myself.

I was more focussing on your slow RAM, low OC and bad TT case...

Well like I said there's nothing that really needs any more CPU power so I'd rather have it last me longer.

The ram is rated at 1600 but the memory multiplier limits me to what it is, I could probably go higher if I loosened the timings but I like it like this. 18GB/s isn't really that shabby.

The TT is actually the CPU fan not the case, was a decent budget buy at the time, giving the same performance as coolers twice as expensive.

Edit: Also if I overclocked it any more It would start drawing much more power, and cost me more in electric.

    @deders

    5/10

I was going to give 6 but I hate MSI boards. All other parts are pretty good choices though! A little low on RAM, and not fast enough, but nice tight timings. Solid PSU, great GPU for the money. A pretty good budget gaming machine with a nice sound card.. nice mouse too.

    9.9/10
Needs a custom water coop instead of a H100. That's it.

What would you recommend to improve it?

    Tell me about it!

7/10 - nice tight little mid range system. 1GB of VRAM needed though I reckon... and I still don't like MSI boards :)

    6.5/10.

Despite having what is now a very ageing CPU, it's well pulled back by the fairly capable graphics card, excellent PSU and audio equipment in the system. What also gives it extra points for me is the storage setup and monitors.

PS, this was for Bloody Pete, I just got about 9 before me.

I don't game on that one, it's for some overclocking fun and non-summer holiday university assignments. My dad likes to play L4D every now and then, so it's just enough for that on a 1080p monitor.
I should get a laptop really.

7/10, the AC F7 is a little dated, even if it's still fine for a i5 2500K. RAM is substandard, 1600MHz is the norm(here). Nice overclock though.

I still only get temps in the high 50s on intel burntest. So still a a good cooler for me.
I may look into updating the ram one day :)

This thread is making me want to OC a little further.. What's should I shoot for on my E6750?

EDIT: Got it up to 3.3GHz with no impact on temps so far..

since tangster has already rated, been rated, and now rated again, i will do a mass rating...and you will never know it was me...wait

Pookeyhead - 9.25/10 - fast ram, cpu has been known to hit slightly higher, no clocks for the gpu, needs a custom w/c loop...and i would steal it in a heartbeat as is, should deduct 2 points because you spent more money on that than i did my wife's wedding ring :miffed:

j4mi3 - 7.75 - fast ram, nice oc on cpu, 4870 wtfsauce with that monitor, case isn't my fav...but to each his own, psu is not sexz...but bang for buck it smokes pookey! :eyebrow:

Thaifood - 7.25 - slow ram (like myself), good oc on the cpu, gpu ... you know, those weren't the best psu's ocz sold, should deduct a point or 2 for having this sitting on your floor instead of a proper case :D

edit: docodine...you going to go ivybridge when it comes out?

and let me defend my rig lol...i had faster ram, but one of my clients wanted faster ram and these were leftover from a test rig...since i was able to hit 4.01 i figured it was good enough...and i bought the monitor almost 4 years ago...as far as tn panels went, it was one of the better ones...

    I'll give you a 7/10.
Great PSU, case and a wonderful graphics card! Also a good set of storage.

Not planning on it, my games run alright and the SSD was a huge speed boost. Might go looking for a QX9650 later this year if I want a boost, I'm trying to hold out for Haswell..

tyty...thought it would pull an 8, but it's cool lol. was trying to sell the second card, but then got greedy and sli'd it :naughty:

well, if you get the urge to go for a little more than that, when ib comes out i might give a decent deal on the cpu and mobo might be able to sell ur's and step up for less than the qx
