I keep telling people the E8500 is one monster CPU even if it is an old Core 2 Duo! Anyway, Heaven isn't much of a CPU scoring tool, look to 3DMark for that sort of analysis. I might get another 3DMark11 license to test my alternative GTX 480 rig properly.

Impressive! For a fair comparison it needs to be full screen though! ;)

Damn I really wish I had one!
Does anyone have any benchmarks for Skyrim or BF3 Ultra? Here are mine on a GTX550 Ti.

Ah, well, problem is, I run a U3011 so if I tick the fullscreen button it raises the resolution to 2560x1600

    I have the same problem - Heaven doesn't like 30" monitors. ;)

Overclock time! Here's my Heaven Benchmark v3.0 with Nvidia 301.24 Drivers at a resolution of 1920 by 1080. This is with 1138mV and 920MHz on the core. Need to test it more extensively before I call it 100% stable but it's looking good.

    Very nice indeed!

I've got mine running at stable at 890Mhz on the Core and 2075Mhz on the Memory on stock volts.

Don't think I'm up for putting more voltage in, don't want to give the PSU any more work than it already has. Might get myself a volt meter to see what its drawing at full tilt.

Just tried my GTX 460 SLI heavily overclocked to compare with the 882 score above and achieved 1082! Only 200 points clear, not a fantastic amount really comparing a single card to SLI. Also tried the mega 2560 by 1440 resolution but my two GTX 460 cards simply could not handle it. The benchmark turned in to a slide show, looks like the memory just craps out at that resolution with immense stress!

Blogins, you done a run at stock? I'm going to do one tonight to see the difference overclocking makes!

Tell you what though, I bored of watching the Heaven benchmark!

Yes, it's on page 9 of this thread.

Don't really like Heaven Benchmark to be honest, it's buggy all over. However it is free! :thumb:

Just to say, that I am LOVING SLI GTX 480's.

Since disabling HD audio, BF3 is buttery smooth at a constant 60fps at 1600p, not a hint of this legendary microstutter. With textures at High and Aero disabled I'm well within the vRAM limit and life is great. Blasted through 4 hours last night!

I thoroughly recommend dual 480's to just about anyone! The best thing about them? At 875/2050 I get a better score than a GTX 680 2GB in the Heaven benchmark (my 1416 vs 1293) and my max temp was 49C.

I paid £250 for these, including the blocks, the equivalent 680 + block would have set me back over £500.

Count me in as a fully paid up member of the GTX 480 Appreciation Society.

Thanks, but another would also require a new psu. 620W is barely enough for 1! Lol

    BUT, I have a cunning plan...:naughty:
