Seems Valve is getting ready for CS:GO. It's part of their current Midweek Madness Counter-Strike: Complete deal as a pre purchase. Just watched the trailer for CS:GO and I'm still not convinced it's anything but a glorified version of CS:Source, if that.
Bought it yesterday and I'm pretty excited about it! Heard its got some better matchmaking for when you want to do scrims and such which is a lot easier than the old days of having to host or have a server available.
Been playing the beta for a few weeks now. As a hardcore CS 1.6 player it takes some getting used to. But I think it's pretty well done and people are gonna generally like it and get on with it well. Just takes a few weeks to get used to the reg, that's all.
I hear the sound engine is pretty amazing as in, you can hear gun fire from other parts of the map just like in BF3 but not on a such a larger scale. Can anyone confirm this? I used to play hostage maps on CS1.6. Are there any of those included? I love the plane one!
I had my 1st go on CS:GO last night. Bought the complete CS pack inc Global Offensive couple of weeks ago for 12 quid. Never played 1.6 or CS:S until I bought this pack. Have played a bit of CS:S now and really like it. CS:GO is great in my opinion! The graphics look good, the game handles and sounds well and most important of all I had a good few hours of intense fun on it. Will be sinking a lot of hours into it I imagine. Just need to convince my BF3 playing mates to buy it now. Think I've got 2 of them ready to purchase.
Just purchased (and snuck in a quick round on my work laptop lol) Erm...yeah it's CS. That's my review. wc206 on Steam and will be playing it a fair bit as I proper loved CS1.6 on LAN (but I'm forever crap online)
I'm enjoying the game, the hit boxes are good, and if you have voice communication blocked you don't have to worry about mic spammers and grievers. I also like how all game modes have friendly fire, teaches people to aim more and spray less.
Oh, ok! Didn't know that. Apropos beta, considering how many hours (and _years_) of my life I've put into the CS franchise I actually expected to get sent a beta code by Valve at some point. Alas, I never did...
To anyone with the beta, does your steam go on like you've pre-purchased the game when you haven't? had a "steam updates" thing pop up claiming about TF2 crap with "your" pre-purchase , goto the games page and it just has "buy this game as a gift for a friend" Oh and it states "you already own this game" etc? Sorry just a bit confussed as generally beta's dont count for you owning the game etc. Edit - pics to show what I mean.. this is a game I dont own http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/18/asdzi.png/ And this is what CS: GO's store page looks like.. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/571/sad2a.png/
Yeah I can purchase it but it states "as a gift for a friend" of which generally from what I've seen is only for games you own :/.. when I havent pre-purchased it, I didnt even visit the page untill I saw the update thing today.
How's everyone finding the beta? I'm doing surprisingly well in it on maps I remember and thinking it may actually improve my BF3 game as I'm becoming more dependent on getting headshots.
Smashing it, popping heads, shaving chins. Awping is fine, not sure how I feel about spraying yet though, an the hit boxes seem off now and again. But overall it's alright. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I panicked for a minute when I saw that as I didn't remember buying it! I'm not sure if I will buy it or not if I'm honest. It's OK but not an improvement over CS-S from what I played.
