We aren't strangers lol. Its actually fun. We have some great times on mumble and we don't judge anybody. On the gaming side, you really do need a mic. If you are in a squad and we can't comm with you, we might shoot you by mistake. It has happened a few times.
Do the Operation Arrowhead tutorials, they are better imo as they show you how to set the range on certain scopes, vehciles overview etc. if you are playing dayz straight away a lot of it wont be relevent. 99p mic from ebay! lol
Done the tutorials, trying to join any server right now, which is proving tricky, had the Bad Version thing a few times, now it's taking an age to load.
Find a private hive server, those are usually very fast to join. Vilayer and Dayz.st seem to have best hive performance.
Sorted now, joined and had a few minutes - first spawn I was just pottering about the coastline when I fell into a terrain ditch and glitch-died. Second time I was about to raid a little village east of Cherno (the name escapes me) when I crashed out from bad video drivers. Updating now, should be ready to go again in a bit.
All too true, remember that being on a hive like Vilayer works the same as normal hives. Gear on one server will be on your character on a different server etc
Ooops, the game can be buggy at times, the amount of times I have gotten stuck in a doorway when trying to avoid players or zombies. It is still a mod after all. Come join us mate, I had some annoying but fun times tonight. Great spawn/Gear,. One player kill and I get mawled by zombies. Respawn, penned in on a roof, but managed to kill the guy after me and a guy he tried to kill Video is rendering now xD
I will, decided just to try and get a handle on things for a bit before I come and embarrass myself. Had a couple of good games last night, one on a server where you spawn with a weapon, hustled it through some countryside to a set of telegraph poles, followed them to find a settlement and some Z's. Managed to grab some meat and a few bits, before a clever crawly Z came through a fence and raised the alarm - queue me running like a moron for miles... Until I came across a lookout post, complete with a horde of soldiers... Lunched. Another one I logged onto the Reddit server, so no weapon, map etc, managed to scrounge a Makarov, ammo, plenty of supplies before an errant look in my inventory (forgot that he stands up!) got me rumbled and eaten by a horde.
What server? if your on the original official hive i still have the thermal L85! I want to hunt you all down like dogs! But dont worry i mainly play DayZ+ now, so much better!
Do not stand up in the open, coniffers are your friends. Though Zeds will hang around you they cannot hit you. Zig Zag run to tree line. Or through a building if possible. They slow down.

I was bored so jumped on some random server and Spoiler chased players with an axe while playing Yakety Sax over direct .
TBH Krikkit, one learns a lot quicker in a squad than on your own. I started with these boys and I'm sure what I know now would have taken so much longer had I tried on my own. Given the snow today, is anyone up for an all day DayZ session? I have norovirus today though so I might have to take short breaks
Depends on when we'd start. I'm all in for even a 12hr game but absolutely can't start until couple hours later, maybe 20:00 +2 UTC. Oh and one thing. Do as I say, not as I do. I have a tendency to go "**** it" and run through a horde for example.
