I prefer a nice airstip personally. I don't like picking the hairs out of my mouth afterwards.

Meh, personally I find Chivas to be over-rated. It's not bad or anything, I just think that there are a lot better ones out there for the same price if not less.

Lance, I'll have any kind really, so long as it's clean.

Around here, there are only a few Whiskies in that price range:

Johnny Walker Black Label, which I find nice, but ultimately forgettable.
Chivas 12 Year - Nice enough, if slightly overrated. A good enough sharing whisky, which I am not afraid to open, even if I have whisky heathens and whisky quaffers in the house.
Dimple 15 year - Not ALL THAT readily available, but much like the Chivas to my taste buds. It's OK, and I am not afraid to share it. Not quite as forgettable as Chivas.
Black Bush - the most recent addition to Namibia, not had a taste yet.

Other than that, we have stuff that's cheap (Famous Grouse, JW red label, and cheaper), which is between "drinkable" and "rubbish". I drink whisky because I enjoy the flavour, not to get drunk. As such, I don't really buy these.

Further, we have a VERY limited range of Fancier whiskies available on occasion.
These include the entire lower-end of the Glenmorangie stable (which is nice, but hardly easy ddrinking, judging by the Quinta Ruban and the Lasanta), the 12 and 15 year Glenfiddich (which I have never tried - my whiky experience is slow and relatively new), the 12 year Glenlivet, JW blue, Green, Gold labels, Chivas 18 (which is retardedly overpriced here - close on double what it should be ~100 quid a bottle) and VERY occasionally other single malts.

I feel absolutely blessed now... :eyebrow:

It has grown a bit since that was taken as well: a Chivas 12, Zacapa 23, Botucal (formerly Diplomatico) Reserva Exclusiva, Ardbeg 10.

Next on my list: Glenmorangie Lasanta[/URL], Pyrat XO, El Dorado 15, Zacapa XO.

Two of the nicest whiskys I have had of late are that of Bowmore and The Dalmore. Utterly divine 12-year bottles that I received as gifts from friends in ZiiP when they visited me in Ireland.

I heard a lot of good things about both and may contemplate buying them soon-ish. Right now I do lean a little bit more towards rum. Maybe it's the wish for good weather, which is somehow associated with it?

    The Lasanta is quite nice.
I found it "lighter" than the Quinta Ruban. Maybe not as interesting in terms of tasting notes, but also not quite as "in your face".

Awesome phone, especially the battery life of this thing is insane for a smartphone this light.
