Fair enough. I do intend upgrading the monitor though and do use my 1920x1080 TV in the living room with it too.

I have Skyrim with the high texture mod and I've been told it struggles on a 1Gb card.

Why not get a second hand GTX580 for that money?

Because in a weird twist, the 7850 can hit 580 framerates....

I can't see the marketplace yet.

I now have a full refund for my 7790. Just waiting for a bargain on a 7850 2Gb. No gaming until then though :D

Get the 2GB. There's no reason not to. Unless of course there are 7870s at that price.

Never had a xfx. Are they any good. Most important thing for me is a quiet card

Thanks. I think I'll stick to what I know which is MSI, Gigabyte, or Asus. Perhaps Sapphire but I'd rather buy second hand and Sapphire don't do transferrable waranty.

MSI and Gigabyte. Asus customer service is spotty at best.

I'll avoid Asus then. MSI or Gigabyte. I'm struggling to find one though for the same price though. I thought it was mentioned I could get a 2Gb 7850 for £120?

Thanks everyone for the info. I've never had HIS or Powercolor. I'd be happier sticking with brands I know. The most important thing to me is the quietest card.
