    Or a waterjet?
Note extra-chunky steel frame, not even 'Merkins are that heavy.

Mmm. 'Tis Irish yew and really stood out to me as being a little more red and characterful. It's going to be awesome varnished and properly finished.

The seller is cutting it to the right thickness for me so my job is just to spend all the time in the world finishing it nicely (words can't even describe how smooth the slab of walnut that it's going in to sat next to me is :D), and then get the router out and make it in to the grill inlay for my tea table.

    got them for $45 shipped

they're gorgeous to look at, very compact, and sound great. bass is a bit muddy and the sound is somewhat veiled, but it's not bad at all. great for films and hip hop.

one odd thing about them is that dolby headphone makes them sound worse somehow... this isn't the case with any of my other headphones

edit: just ordered new earpads and a new headband for my old ultrasone hfi-580s... that vinyl is falling apart

Right back at you :p ;)

Yew is a great wood, you can get an awesome polish on it if you get the grain properly filled before the final finish. Just be careful with dust when you are working with it. Every part of the yew tree (aside from the red coating that the seeds get) is poisonous to just about everything which is why the ground is always completely bare beneath one.

The red staining in the wood often comes from the sap, if you cut a living tree it can sometimes look like its bleeding.

Have you been to Bangkok before? It's an awesome, if somewhat smelly, city :thumb:

Further to this, I know in New Zealand they don't let you in without a ticket to leave.

This could be the same in AUS.

Nice looking station, have you used it much yet? I mostly want/slightly need a new rework station and that one mostly fits the bill if it's good enough quality. It doesn't have the same spec as the Metcal one I was looking at a while ago, but then it doesn't have the £500 price tag either!

Did you get a set of SMD tweezers to go with it?

Don't need one. Ive got a Working Holiday Visa for Oz, yes sometimes they *May* ask you for a return ticket or check you have funds to buy one ASAP. I have plenty of funds to fuel me for a good 12 months in Oz without working.

Everyone ive spoken too, have either taken zero money to Oz or had a return ticket. But no authority has ever checked. However as im Indian origin they may ask questions and ill be able to show them my intentions.

Im going there to work for the next few years as it gives me an opportunity to start fresh again (career wise) in a foreign country. luckly the economic conditions of Oz are still good so the chances of bringing money back to the UK is good, also the weather & women don't hurt either.:)

    See above :)

Thanks man but its transit to Kolkata. Dehli's Airport is nice, so is Delhi. This time round my dad has access to Air India's lounge which might actually be helpful.

Either way been going to India since I was six months old, TBH I have no interest in the place, ONLY THE FOOD.

Oh my god. I don't excited over hardware but that station is gorgeous. I go through cheap soldering irons because I can't afford a nice station. How much did this set you back?
