Yeah I've always used cheaper irons, usually the yellow ones from maplin, but I decided to splash out as I found myself messing around so much with electronics.

This was £200 from circuit specialists.

That's not bad for what you've got there, provided it isn't made of cheese :p £200 seems to be just about the sweet spot between simple stations at £0-£60 and advanced stations at £300+. There are a few rework gems between £200 and £300 but they don't have the same functionality as that one.

A set of 3 battery for my camera. I was walking down the street yesterday when my spare battery died, in fact it was dead before charging it in my camera :-/

Book 1 of the Malazan Book of the Fallen: Gardens of the Moon, by Steve Erikson. I don't plan on getting into it for a while, but my brother had a 10% off coupon and I was next door so I figured it may motivate me to finish off the Wheel of Time series first.

I bought the Unimog for my sons Christmas. He was 5 at the time but still managed all the gearing aspects, which are pretty epic (as lego goes). Of course I had to help him complete the rest ;)

And what did he and his twin sis buy me for my birthday a few months later?

    B-Wing!

Thanks. She's a High Up! 75hp BlueMotion with parking sensors & chrome pack (the mirrors & fogs).
The alloys are the standard issue, but VW offer about 6 different designs as options.

I particularly like the detachable satnav, which also provides the following:-

    1: Trip Computer
2: Extra dials (I've only found Temp & Tacho so far)
    3: Handsfree for my phone
4: Display for the parking sensors (it even reduces radio volume so I can hear the beeping!)
    5: Radio display/control
6: MP3 player (either via bluetooth or from MicroSD)

There was even a voucher code in the box to get the next 2 years map updates for £16 instead of £80 (which beats £200 every other year for a DVD from Vauxhall)

I traded in my old '09 Insignia SRi for twice the max deposit so there's a cheque in the post too.
(Since my mother passed away last year, I no longer need a car the size of the Vauxhall)

My wallet is feeling good about moving from £170/yr road tax & group 22 insurance to zero road tax & group 2 insurance.

The Unimog is an awesome model, I picked one up a little while ago from a model shop that was closing down for just over £100, well done to your son for getting all the gearing sorted out, it has a hell of a gearbox in it.

Been sniffing around on of the B-Wings as well ever since I saw it in the LEGO shop in Meadowhall (I bought the R2D2 at the time...)

So far, the only compelling argument I've seen for the iPhone,
is that 2000AD have just released their entire back catalogue of Judge Dredd for it.

From 4 to 5/5S/5C is a good move at the moment. I am doing the same in 7 days time, going from a barely working iP4 to a shiny new, fast, iOS7 iP5 on a better tariff for less monies per month :)

From a 5 to a 5S/5C at the moment is silliness.
