Yes, go to My Hangar on the website, and at the top there's a configuration button that allows you to select ships and which bay they go in.

I did that, but it only had my Freelancer MIS, what about the other ships we're meant to play with?

I think thats only for the ships you have purchased.

Press escape and you will see Arena Commander as an option.

They removed the trainer ships from the hangar a while back, the last big update after Gamescom i think.

$1.3m for 3560 x 890's worth over $2.1m, plus Cutlass variants on top, looks like most of those 890s came from melting.
Over on the OCUK forum someone is saying someone melted a Scythe & Retaliator to buy an 890. God only knows the reason for that, they must know support will let them reclaim them at some point, because anyone who has 2 ships worth $2000+ combined isnt short of money! If they cant be gifted, they've bought them in the last few months (for $1700 & $400) or they were lucky enough to snag them when sold, and they've turned down $1500 which any GM middleman would pay instantly to sell or keep. Yet they melted them, rather than pay $600. Weird.

I have a confession to make.

I own an 890 Jump. I melted a bunch of ships to do it (Gladiator, Hornet Ghost, Aurora LX, 350R and a Gladius, all with LTI). However, I'm not too sad about the lost ships - I always had too many small ships that would mean some wouldn't get flown. The only one I was torn on was the Gladiator, but it will come back up for sale for a week when it finally goes in to the hangar.

    So it leaves me with:
    890 Jump
    Constellation Phoenix
    Retaliator
    Super Hornet
    Cutlass
    Avenger
    M50

Still trying to decide what Cutlass upgrade to go for. Blue or Red?

IIRC The blue is the limited Militia/Police version and comes with "Advocacy" baton & handcuffs for bounty hunting (or naughties! :naughty:). The red SAR version can be bought anytime.

EDIT: The baton & cuffs can be had in the pledge store for a mere $5.

Im surprised the Phoenix wasnt on the chopping board, seeing as its kinda like a baby 890. I think maybe im just not fussed about it, i just see it as a limo and cant see beyond the luxury, so luxury 2.0 wins, and v1 is old hat.

I've swapped and changed my mind on what i'd like to end up with a few dozen times the last 3-4 months, and im now leaning towards trying to get 3 larger ships, and not 2 big & 4 small, or that sort of thing. Ultimately it shouldnt make much difference, i'll pick up what i dont pledge for in the PU, but im thinking that if i bought 2x Gladius to fly escort for the Reclaimer, if they're not that good and i need a couple of freelancers or cutlasses, im not likely to fly 1 Gladius, certainly not 2.
So im thinking if i can do Reclaimer, Starfarer, and MIS/Retaliator then i can use the PU beta to figure out what works best, 6 small fighters or 3 medium etc, and i'll make sure to pick those up in-game when the PU does its proper rollout. I know i'll have fun in the big ships, and if im not in them, someone esle can be. The smaller ships im simply using for NPCs to escort my bigger ships, so why pay $$$ for them.

Your decision seems kinda similar, seeing something you really love the idea of, and its simply more enjoyable looking forward to getting those than the smaller ships you probably wont use too much but like the idea of having them. Buying them in the PU just makes more sense.

I love the look of the Cutlass Red, the red really pops, not sure which will be best though, but the best advice i could give would be, if you have the credits, buy the Blue upgrade, and just hold onto it. Let things settle down and if thats the better variant, apply it. If red or black looks better, those options are always available. I bought a MIS upgrade, its cheaper than buying the full ship, yet its always there as an option, i just need to buy the base freelancer.

I'll be able to get a Ghost in the PU without much effort - same goes for all small ships, hence lack of bother over melting them. The Ghost is even still in the store right now.

As for the Phoenix, it is tied to my Rear Admiral original backer pledge. I can't get rid of it. I'll be running both the Phoenix and 890J as command ships for BitSec.

I was tempted by a Blue but it's unclear if it (and the Red) has the docking collar.
    The literature says yes.
    The models say no......

I'd say that the internals don't leave enough space for it having looked.

Also the Blue seems expensive for what you get.
    6 cells (for 12 people?)
    $5 handcuffs/baton
Pre-loaded missiles (that the Black has space for anyway)
    Bigger max shield
Bigger starting power plant (that the black can be upgraded to anyway).

I am still waiting on the Mustang though :)

Thanks to the Test Drive week, I also have access to craft a Hornet with 4 chain guns.
    JESUS is that nasty :D

This is my current hanger and packages.

M50 package - Debating now if i should melt this. This ship got me into the game but it will mainly be info running, personal transport and racing. problem with that is the next ship.

Mustang AMD racer package - Another racer, data runner personal transport. I can't melt this for any value so this is in my account perm. Only other idea is to gift this to my wife so she has a game package and I might get one of the mustangs when they come out.

Hornet F7C plus package - Upgraded to Hornet Ghost. Physical items! :) I'm thinking the hornet ghost will be a great all round single seater ship. Can be setup with low signatures for stealth work, or fully loaded for combat and will serve as a great support ship for corp work.

Cutlass Blue Standalone - Another good support ship, but will also serve for police and bounty hunter missions. Looking to fly this with my wife in the verse.

The only thing with gifting a package is that my wife would not be a backer until she pledges something. Likely the fps module will be a $5 buy in which would serve for this.
A mustang will likely be cheap in the PU too, so it might be worth just having the 3 ships and stop hoarding so many :)

That Friday patch could be interesting, worded a little odd IMO, but hopefully we'll see a group of variants in AC, with any missing coming shortly after too. My understanding is it wouldnt be the Avenger, which is a shame, cos i feel like that should be first up, but maybe the variants are just easier to add from the completed base ship.

Still no 10FTC yet, so im exactly 1h through the CitCon vid again :thumb:

Forgot to post this early hours this morning, looks like the first sneak peek at the Starfarers progress.

I love the look, and i love Orange as an accent colour (Red, Orange & Hot Pink!) but i cant help but feel it doesnt carry that function industrial MISC look.

That aside, if this stays orange, the Retaliator is red... all i need is a hot pink Reclaimer an im 3 for 3 :D

The Letter From The Chairman for $57m & $58m is up:
    https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/14209-Letter-From-The-Chairman

    The winning concept ship description:
Im struggling to understand exactly what that means though :D is it EVA repairs, or is there and internal garage ('maintain artificial gravity' etc), meaning its got to be big enough to park a hornet in there, at least.

Instead of taking the top 2 votes, they've instead given everyone 10,000 UEC, $10 worth, which is nice. Im not sure, but i'd imagine everyone could buy the Greycat with the UEC we've got recently, maybe + package funds.

Also, they've included the Starfarer image in the letter header, and the url confirms it is the Starfarer
