All the resistors you need are 0805 (2012) size smd resistors.

oh - the SMD LED (that go on the bottom) are 1206 (3216) size.

0805 and 1206 are imperial sizes - metric is 2012 and 3216 respectively.

Ok I am getting more confused now.

so to build my Ctrl60 board i will need the following

    Switches
    LED's
    1N4148 diodes
    50 x 133 resistors
    65x 470 resistors
    stabs

I think thats right so my diode order would be 40x 133 resistors as i ordered white LEDS and 65 470 resistors (all 8050)

also what do you mean by the SMD LED?

Oddly when I look around for the SMD resistors all i seem to find are ones with a range or 0 - 10k not specific resistances

    e.g: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/100x-SMD-...mponents_Supplies_ET&var=&hash=item3cd9481aeb

The LED that go on the bottom of the pcb are not through hole LED, they are SMD LED.

Don't go on ebay for resistors :p get them from here https://cpc.farnell.com/ if you search "0805 470" then it will bring up loads.

though on that ebay link there is a drop down to choose the resistance.

I can never find 133's either, but those are the ones that GON suggests - you could probably get away with 120 but I've not tested that.

You don't have to use SMD LED you could leave them off, if it's not going in a GON case, I would of thought there would be little gain having the underside LED.

I Will keep looking for 133's then as its a Gon board and i would rather be safe than sorry and for now im not going to bother with smd I want to just get it sorted.

I will eventually get a custom case where the sides are metal and there's a hole in the bottom which is covered with clear acrylic so you can see the CTRL alt logo

    Hello everyone!

Not looking to derail this awesome thread, but just to say we're visiting Cooler Master HQ atm with access to a number of product managers. If you've got any mech keyboard related questions (or anything else related to their product line), please feel free to post them in the thread here:

    Cheers!

the [CTRL] Alt is on the top - under where the switches will be, you won't really see it if you have a plate, if it's in a plateless setup then you would see it through the switches.

Couldnt really go on the bottom as there is a silk screen on the bottom that tells you what to put where, and that's quite important info so it had to go on the top.

Infact - there is loads of 133 at my usual supplier farnell, (not cpc their daughter store) http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/search/br...skipParametricAttributeId=&prevNValues=215515 problem with farnell is it's min 20 quid order, unlike a fiver at cpc.

Looks Like I am going plateless then haha.

And I found some 133 0805's on aliexpress that a mate of mine suggested ordered 200 to be sure came to £2 so will not complain

Haha, NO Margo, we need you for board construction! :p

Cyan is awesome, but because this is ran by Feng it only appears in his subforum. It needs more exposure. I want those Pink mods to make a toned down GMK Miami set :D

CTRL ALT is, I believe, running hyperfuse again in the near future. I'm saving my pennies for that :D

The Deep Space DSA IC on PMK also looks good.

    hype. GMK hyperfuse too.

    soon ;)

I want to use the purple mods with the cyan alphas, and the cyan mods with WoB, I think that will be tremendous.

Serious HYPE! Ha, I forgot about that one.

I'm really looking forward to the rumoured GMK Miami as well.

What I do know is that I will be picking up Ivan's Dolch and various other goodies tomorrow afternoon!
The delivery guy came by but I didn't have enough cash on hand to pay the import tax.
But GMK packing tape doesn't lie. :D
