Yeah, really happy with that one- I walked all along the sea front but there are so many small boats, boat-cranes and pontoons it's almost impossible to get a clear shot without the silhouette of something in the foreground or across the image ruining the shot.
Thanks. That's exactly what I was aiming for with that picture. Something artistic yet ugly, disgusting. Something that has immediate impact and commands a reaction without the viewer's consent. It was a nice change from taking pretty pictures and has gone down quite well so I'll definitely be expanding the theme. Thanks again for the comment, much appreciated. Speaking of pretty pictures, here's one I took this week. Meditation by Box with a button, on Flickr
Been a while since my last post... most of what I've been shooting I can't post here being family friendly and all.... But hey, time to spread some Christmas cheer! Christmas present by Sam Dickinson, on Flickr

Lady Lara 9 by SuicideNeil, on Flickr Lady Lara 8 by SuicideNeil, on Flickr Last couple of shots, this time with a full lighting display- the underwater lights look better when viewed from a higher angle, and the bow lighting is blindly bright I am informed by my old flat mate who works on the passenger ferry, lol. I think she sailed out today as I can't see her lights on the river anymore from my kitchen window, nice to have such a beautiful yacht moored up this time of year- last few years we have had very few large yachts or cruise ships since the harbour authority decided to increase the harbour fees to insane levels. As a result, all the ships moor up outside the mouth of the river and use their tenders to ferry passengers into town...
Practiced some exposure stacking and long exposure the other night. First try was quite bad, but the second night I went in with a plan and had much better results.
