Super Flower.

 

My Super Flower Leadex is the best PSU I've ever owned. I won't ever be going back to Corsair's shoddy offerings.

 

Something new learned, cheers guys.

 

Got a spoon knife ordered, on it's way as I type. Also got a second straight blade (longer), a hatchet for splitting and removing large areas from a piece and some more free wood from the local sawmill.

 

A spoon knife? Immediately makes me think of the Simpsons: "I see you've played old knifey spoony before!"

Hmm, maybe build log if there's sufficient interest, probably not time lapse.

It's probably going to take a month or more. My official parts finder is going to help, and that doesn't necessarily speed things up, especially considering her bedtime is 7pm.

 

It's about 7,500 pieces, isn't it? If you assume that you can put together 10 pieces a minute tops (including locating said pieces), then that's 12.5 hours minimum assuming you just mash straight through and don't actually take the time to enjoy it. But realistically I think you might be talking nearly twice that time, so that's a full day of building. Good value for money when you think about that way!

A team of 8 did a build in 12 hours by tearing the manual apart between them to concurrently build different sections and having people lining up the parts for subsequent steps in advance. I think 25 hours is probably realistic for a relaxed pace, maybe a bit longer to account for the 4yo assistant. I'd like to do most of it with her help, so that means not much on weekdays - I think a month is probably about right.

Yeah, if it were me then I'd take my time with this and definitely get my kids to assist - they love putting Lego sets together. I wouldn't want to rush through this because it's not like you're going to be taking it completely to pieces and putting it back together very often, it at all, so it's worth savouring the build process.
