Hi guys Ive got the chance to buy a powercolor rx 580-8gb red devil, ive heard off a neighbour that powercolor are a 2nd tier graphic card, is he right and should i avoid them, thanks guys
Depends how much they want. They've been going for anywhere between 230-450 on the bay due to the mental market at the moment. Sure powercolor may not be my first choice of company but if the price was right i wouldn't let it put me off. Edit: a quick look at reviews and they seem decent enough to me. Of course, if the price is right.

It's barely an upgrade, there's not enough performance gap to really justify it. And I'd say you'd want a 1080 at that res to have all the sparkles turned on. You mightbbe OK with a 1060 with details turned down a bit, just let geforce experience take care of that.
True a 1060 6gb is pretty on par with an RX580 but the monitor has freesync which the 580 could make use of. Whether 330 is something to pay for freesync, i can't make that call. Of course a 1080 would be better but they're whopping prices +some.
I'd echo exactly this. You're basically choosing between Gsync and Freesync, the performance is about equal to the 1060. Assuming you already have the 1060, wIth the market being what it is I'd expect that you could resell your 1060 easily and not be out much (if any) money, but bear in mind that if you still have warranty on your card you might be trading for a card that doesn't have any that's easily transferable, if at all.
The days of owning a Geforce 2 GTS and the performance impact of running 32bit colour at 1024x768 on a good old 17" CRT. That was a proper VGA card.
haha yeah me too. It brought back memories of fitting a colour VGA card to my 386 so it wasn't black and white any more
At £330 for a 'sidegrade' to use a Freesync monitor, it may work out cheaper to go for a G-sync monitor and keep the current GPU.
Akchually, <pushes glasses up nose>, 1024x768 is XGA (eXtended Graphics Array); VGA (Video Graphics Array) only went from 160x120 qqVGA (Quarter Quarter VGA) to 1024x600 WSVGA (Wide Super VGA). The More You Know™!

My first display device that wasn't just a TV was a *lovely* amber CRT hooked up to a Schneider Euro-PC II, an 8088-based thing with an upgraded 1.44MB floppy and MS-DOS 3.30A installed on a mahoosive 20MB IBM-compatible sidecar harddrive. The thing had colour, technically, but I never saw the true glory of its CGA capabilities.
