At least we don't have to wait half a year for the TI version....

    But bloody hell, £1100:wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

Yeah, we're getting shafted. The UK a tiny bit more than the EU even.

So I guess I'll just keep my 1080 Ti and wait until 2019/2020 until RTX actually has any meaning in the mainstream market.

Indeed, $999 is £781, add 20% VAT and you get £937, round to nearest xx9.99 and it should be £939.99 (and that already ignores the $300 extra they slapped on the US MSRP compared to the 1080TI).

Were you actually planning on upgrading from a 1080Ti? What kind of performance/price balance would have made you step up to a RTX 2080/Ti? Just curious!

Where'd you get the 70 pricing? Is it actually up for pre-order anywhere?

Those prices are posted on the UK Nvidia website.

A week or so ago I bought an Evga 1070ti for £417 from Amazon. Happy with that @ 1440p.

Didn't have plans or finances in place. But I was toying with the idea if they'd released the Ti for roughly what I paid for mine. But that was 500 Euros less.

I'm an addict, what can I do? ;)

Crazy but honestly not in the least bit surprised. You only have to look at the direction they've been headed for years to see this coming. I suspect they are considering the Ti the Titan replacement for now and that is the only reason was are seeing both the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti released at the same time.

I knew the pricing was going to go up again :(

I'm really not happy with this constant gouging from Nvidia, but we are stuck with AMD performance that allows Nvidia to get away with this. I never thought I'd ever be wanting Intel to hurry up and join the graphics race, but here I am.

As AMD are still stuck with the GCN architecture on Navi, it's not going to be at least at until the 'Next Gen' architecture appears in 2020 that we might see something like a competitive AMD, but how far ahead will Nvidia be by then? And how much will they be charging for a midrange chip rebadged as high end by that stage?

Nah the Titan's going to be two grand at least.

The Mx Q chips could be interesting when they come along, but unless the performance bumps are enormous the pricing has killed my interest in the 60/50ti/50 level cards.

We shall see. I mean the tech is very interesting and I'm sure they've invested a huge amount of capital in it but then with the longevity of the Pascal architecture they had it to spend.

I'd be interested to see how well the Ti does @ 4K Ultra.

Except that there are conflicting reports that claim the prices are supposed to $499 -999, so either they think writing "founders edition" on a card warrants a $100 - 200 premium or they are trying to pull the same scam as AMD did with the Vega launch and trick reviewers into assessing the cards based on a lower price...

Pre-orders went up for $1240 for the ASUS variant over here. So much for the $999 price point...

Think I'll be skipping this - £1100 for a 2080 Ti. I thought the mining craze was over... Rather book a holiday, than buy into their stupidity.
