Got a call, out of the blue, from a company that found a five year old CV of mine online, and have just had an impromptu preliminary telephone interview.

They've asked me to formally apply for the role. It's a 50% salary increase (75% if the bonuses are achievable).

It's obviously far too early to get my hopes up, but it has brightened my day considerably.

When I worked I a call centre, one of the other managers gets a call at lunch, wanders off to talk and comes back. "Barclaycard are trying to headhunt me". Oh right so how they get your mobile number we ask. "Oh I saw the job online and sent them my CV." :eyebrow: 'k Mark. So you applied for the job "No they're headhunting"

I had a (luckily short) series of panic attacks because of work in early December. One of my clients is an insane pain in the arse and kept piling pressure on me until my body and mind put a stop to it. That meant a 4-day training I was about to give didn't happen then and was rescheduled to after my return in the new year. I was out all December and gave the training these last four days.

It's been intense, it's been rage-inducing, it's been tiresome, it's been ... better overall than expected, at least for me. I know there will be complaints and I know they will lean on me heavily in the coming weeks, but I also know that I can cope with it right now. My resilience seems to be back and maybe better than before my forced long timeout.

Exhausted after 36 hours of training in the last four days, but happy I'm done with it for now and am off into my weekend now. And, honestly, happy with my performance as well.

The quality of the God of War PC port.

I tried playing it on PS4 when it came out and my controller skills (or better, the lack thereof) were such a hindrance that I never really got into the game at all. On PC with mouse and keyboard, with even more stunning graphics and with the smoothness of 60+ FPS at all times this game really shines (for me).

What hardware & resolution are you running? I really do want to get this on PC, despite the fact that I own it on PS4! I also want to get Horizon: Zero Dawn and FFVII Remastered on PC (although no way in hell I'm paying £70 for the latter, not with all the issues it has - I'll wait for the almost-confirmed-but-not-officially Steam release later this year).

Full HD on the ultra preset, DLSS on quality with a 2070S and a 3700X. Not once have I seen a dip below 60 FPS.

My wifes BFs husband used to kit-bash transformers and was quite prolific for a while - Have no idea if he still does all that though!

Finding out that The Expanse Season 6 is actually released - flew under my radar.

    Also, Afterlife season 3.

Cool, ta - that gives me a good reference point for performance! It won't trouble my PC, but my other half's 1060 6GB might struggle a bit more though.

Read that as "my wife's boyfriend's husband" and felt very confused. Modern relationships, eh?

This might also help as reference:
