Yeah, only problem is that phrase has been repeated ad nauseam for the past 8 years. It's really time to deliver something.

Have to agree but I also can't argue with the logic that
(can't remember who said it today) in years to come people won't remember a delay of a few days but they would remember an exploding rocket.

Is the manned mission planned for a couple of years time?

It's not about the spaceflight, it's about all those lovely, expensive pork barrels!

I saw that interview and, I can’t remember who he was either. He was addressed as Dr. though, so methinks reasonable to assume he was someone who knows what he’s talking about.

I still have a very clear mental image of the classroom that I was sitting in listening to the radio when the Challenger exploded in January of '86...

I understand what you’re saying but, consider the amount of effort car manufacturers put in to making sure a new model is problem free, then they still have to issue product recalls, after the cars come to market. Even a high-end modern car is simple compared to Artemis.

Appeal to authority: always remember, people addressed Gillian "LET ME LOOK AT YOUR TURDS" McKeith as doctor too... until it turned out her PhD was from the American Holistic College of Nutrition (which rebranded to the Clayton College of Natural Health before skipping out on the lawsuits and closing down) and basically involved sending a cheque and waiting.

Even if they're an actual doctor, that's no guarantee they're not chatting you-know-what: Andrew Wakefield was an actual honest-to-goodness legit doctor - a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, no less - and... well.

As already pointed out, there is very little new stuff in SLS:

Solid boosters are same as shuttle with an additional segment
Main tank is a modified version of the shuttle tank
Main engines are actual flight hardware taken off the shuttles after retirement
Upper stage is from the Delta IV*
Orion was originally part of the Constellation program
The service module is a modified version of a European cargo vehicle
Mobile launch tower and ground support equipment was originally part of the Constellation program (probably with some leftovers from the shuttle as well)

*Will be replaced with the exploration upper stage, which requires a new f*%$ing mobile launch tower.

Sad but true. Dispite all the handouts, Boeing has now managed to f*$& up SLS, Starliner, 737 Max and parts of the 787 program all in the span of less than a decade.

    Love me some IMSAI.

Not that I'll watch the video, mind: staged picture of yourself in the thumbnail? That's a no from me.

At least he's not pointing at anything, I'll give him that...
