Thank you very much, good sir.

Currently building the Ferrari Daytona, my second Lego supercar. So, big Lego projects are not unknown to me.

    Happy Birthday to. Me.

Haven't bought anything hifi related in over a year. However, I fancied a change up. I want to replace the dark red coloured rear speakers as they don't match anything, down the rabbit hole we went. Then I found out there were some killer sales on and well, then it happened. These were on sale for £499.

The orange ones were not available at that price and besides, blue is nice. I then noticed Peter Tyson only had one set left in that price so again I paused to think and then saw "Audioquest Rocket 11 3m terminated promo FREE". Sold.

They are probably too large to use as rears. They are bigger than my Revel M105. Sooo, I will use them up front and see how I like them, whilst using the Revels at the back. Right now I am using not only the Revel up front but also the Sonus Faber, as tbh the Revels don't reach low enough for me. I've got my sub of course, but yeah.

What bugs me is that they call 2x 1920x1920 screens "4k". Or that they call 1920x1920 "2k".

Eh, that I can forgive. If you're rounding it to the thousands, then it is 2k. Mind you, by that yardstick a 1500x1500 display would also be 2k...

I picked up a Gen4 iPad Pro 12.9” last year, and it’s a fantastic device. The 12.9" version is a little unwieldy for handheld use, but it’s a great bit of kit.

I'd love something around the 13" mark for reading magazines on, but ideally it'd be colour E Ink rather than LCD. And given how expensive the 10" greyscale E Ink stuff is (including the Remarkable 2 I already own), I think it's a pipe-dream. Sad.

    Oops

A friend wanted something 3D modelling and printing, in the end the print services are so expensive it made Man-Maths-sense to just buy a printer and sell it when I'm bored!

Also got the wash + cure station on the way too.

Meanwhile, muggins here wants a 16in version. Although I'd probably need a mortgage to buy one.

I don't drink gin. Ever. the OH loves it so I ordered some of this for her.

After an Amazon order got randomly cancelled I found you could buy direct. After paying for express delivery and not hearing of dispatch I was told there'd been a stock update mistake (probably why the Amazon ordered got cancelled).

Craft56 were awesome though, apologised, refunded the delivery charge without me even asking and got it shipped as soon as available.

Definitely use them again for my OHs gin needs.

It's very nice that one, not surprising given how practiced the Scots are with distilling delicious things!

    Good to hear.:thumb:

If I drank gin it's the one I'd go for, the sort of thing the OH should love too.

I assume that it is flavoured with gorse flowers. I have always thought those taste faintly of coconut.

Exactly! We have some near us and they do smell of coconut, she's a massive coconut nut as it were.

Nice. I am a big fan of gorse. Fascinating plant from a folklore point of view. It was often planted around houses as it was thought that it could ward away lightning - kinda fun thing following on from that, it is also known as the Prickly Furze and the company I work for (Furse) deals with lightning protection. There is also an old saying of "when the gorse is in flower, kissing is in season", the thing being that there is always a gorse in flower somewhere, regardless of the time of year. I also have a walking stick made from it, kind of unusual as it it not common to find a piece big or straight enough to make one:
