    Speaker stand things.

So right now I am running my Revels on the outside on Atacama 40cm stands. On the inside I am running a couple of Sonus Fabers on Fisual Dynami 20cm stands.

It works well. Mostly because the Sonus are angled up toward the seated position. Problem is I want to put those at the rear and use my new JBL up front with the Revel. And the stands don't have any spikes at all as they are meant for desktop use. So I got these first.

I will probably ignore the sticky pads and attach them with JB weld. I then got these.

So I can angle them slightly. Again will probably attach those with JB weld also.

What. Wait. What? You mean it can't ward away lightning?!?

Must say that is a cracking and unusual piece of gorse. Can't say I've ever seen any that would suggest they could produce such a piece.

Not much you can do to prevent a strike (thankfully from my work point of view...). There used to be a type of protection system that was quite popular in the large area protection scene called charge dissipation arrays that aimed to dissipate the charge in the air immediately before a strike thus preventing the arc from forming. These systems were used for things like oil and gas facilities but have largely been rubbished by more recent research and ways of thinking. The international lightning protection standard now relies mainly on the passive nature of a Faraday Cage system and the experience of system designers along with surge protection devices.

Apparently, some French researchers have discovered how to attract lightning to a lightning rod by using a terawatt-class laser to burn a low resistance path through the air.

Got an urge to recreate that insane scene in Star Trek where they warp into that ambush and it’s just chaos

figured I can use my home theatre system around this perfectly, the svs shakes the house anyway so once complete this should be rather good.

    Soundtrack, man.
    Wicked.
In fact, I'm going to put it on right now. Took the little 'un to the Hella Mega Tour last year (which the Bad Year blimp lends some irony to since I think it was supposed to be happening in 2020 originally).

I won't lie Warning is my fave album of theirs. Probably for no more reason than I had moved to the USA when it came out, and it was on the radio everywhere I went. Killer memories. That said, Minority is probably my fave song ever of theirs, and I love Castaway too. Really do get me pumped up those two ! sadly Warning on vinyl as an album doesn't exist, and you can expect to pay about 300 notes for it. And given I have all of their albums on CD yeah, madness.

I think as far as Dookie goes? I probably buck the trend when I say that "When I come around" is the best song on there. God I friggin LOVE that.

One of these, with the Ergo Stand, for under £1000.

Before anyone asks, yes I paid on my credit card in case it's a scam. No I've no idea where to put it, compared to the 24HD it's replacing it's comically yuuuge.

I've gone back to wool lined leather moccasin slippers, a brand I've bought before that are a reasonable price and last well. Given-up on trying to find extra warm ones, that are actually more durable than wet newspaper.

I just wear a pair of “house trainers” and socks. I’ve a lot of tiled and wooden flooring downstairs and it’s colder than a witches tit till the heating warms it.
