Mostly because the rules related to that don't come into force until next year on the fruit and veg side, at which point good luck getting even 3 tomatoes next Jan if there'sa similar shortage, of course I'm sure Theresa Coffey has mitigations in place for our food security by then......

Although due to increased energy costs the additional costs of shipping it across the Channel and current bureaucracy has been something some producers just chose to ditch apparently.

It's not the key part of a perfect storm but us being out of the EU is playing a part nonetheless.

I'm sure the bad deal, then oven ready deal, then done deal, now doing a deal, Schrödinger's deal may help in the future. Or past. Or present. I've lost track what is, was and shall be.

    What is a tomato again?

It's a squishy red thing, good for throwing at Tory MPs.

I mean, I like turnips in my stew, or as mash on the side... but I don't think they're likely to replace the tomato sauce on my pizza or in my bolognese any time soon. Not quite so nice sliced in a cheese-and-tomato turnip sandwich, either.

She should have one. Whole. To stop any more patronising crap coming out of her half-witted gob.

So apparently a new deal has been done and Mr S is about to tell us all what he's done with the deal to get the deal done.

Now lets watch and see if the ERG collapse the government to deal with the done deal that's done them...

No, like Brexit itself it will remain in a done/not done quantum superposition until the heat death of the universe.

I think you're being optimistic thinking the death of the universe will stop it.

Nice to see you're still around btw @Nexxo

Schrödinger's @Nexxo, he exists in a quantum superposition of both posting and not posting until observed or acted on by an external force.

I'm still here (and lurking regularly). It's just that we're manically busy preparing for the move to France on the 21st March...

There's always more to do and there's always more things to find and pack.

Hope the trip goes smoothly and you have enough boxes.

Edit: Bon voyage et bonne chance.

Good luck with the move - fingers crossed it goes about as smoothly as a country move ever can do.

TBF, the move could be an absolute train wreck and it'd still be preferable to staying here.

It's a toss up with a literal train wreck at the moment to be fair.

It does not seem like a fun time. Somewhat surprised no one has stuffed Coffey with turnips and kicked her into the Thames.

Well they can't, there's a shortage of turnips too.

A suspicious me would think she only said turnip because she's a major shareholder in Big Turnips Inc. and knew there'd be a run on them.

    Turnips are the new bitcoin.
