Maybe, but the 'we're better than you' from LMG seemed to be a/the tipping point for it all happening *now*
It has probably been brewing since the guy in LTT labs said they tested better than GN or HWUB. Because let's face it, that is what this was all really about. I mean obviously hairy PC bloke could not have gone on the attack if LTT wasn't so poor of late, but then it isn't like no one knew that either.
I think the billet labs thing was also quite the catalyst. Although in the long run, it's been amazing publicity for them.
Yeah, but I'm guessing only because someone else brought it up. If they went after LMG on their own it might've been very different.
Out of curiosity I looked at the requisite section of local supermarket and computer active and MagPi were it for anything in that general sphere.
I wrote for Computeractive once or twice. MagPi quite frequently up until a year or two ago, too. Should probably pitch more stuff that way, really...
Luke had disabled Linus' share screen and setup a mute button on his mic on Fridays WAN, although the topic didn't really get discussed at all, but at the very least Luke is learning...
Luke the guy he does the pod/webcast with? The one before this all kicked off when Linus was doubling down on the shenanigans with the prototype block they reviewed, you could just see him dying inside.
The whole plan video was cringey as hell! Treating the viewers like his 'employer' to placate the masses with his transparency crusade, including irrelevant details about medical and dental plans...
Especially as you know he means the [paying] floatplane audience when he says it. As for the latter stuff I think that was meant to demonstrate how they're not a minimum-wage content sweatshop. [They're a above minimum wage sweatshop]. It didn't strike me as tone deaf as the earlier video, but I think it still highlights how a not-negligible part of the problem with LTT/LMG is L.
