No great shock there given that it uses the Oblivion engine (Gamebryo I think). Oblivion had some multicore capability too...

Start with Ubuntu - it's probably the easiest and best supported for us consumer types - especially in terms of downloadable packages (.deb files)...
I'm on Gamecentre as my forum name...however there doesn't appear to be any games compatible with it yet...
