Interesting ... but have you seen that website? Took me right back to the mid-nineties. Still, it would be a lot easier (not to mention cheaper) to have it shipped across from the UK. Thanks again.
I simply took nickel reservoir to a local nickel plating company (Birmingham is at heart an industrial town and also has a big jewelry quarter). Stripping nickel from brass is simply a reverse of the nickel plating process --just swap the polarity. They did it for £10,-- IIRC.
Nexxo...if I would have known...I would of followed this from the beginning I'll grab a beer and watch the awesomeness
Not bad, can't complain I won't crowd up your thread, I'll catch you on PM Btw I'm digging the brass! Looking forward to updates
Small update: this week I took delivery of some True Brass Bitspower connections, notably the C47 Enhanced compression fittings for 12mm OD rigid tubing. I was pleased to find that they are a good match to the brass pieces that I have already made. I was also pleased to find that the 12mm OD, 10mm ID brass tube is a perfect fit. Of course with the lathe it was easy to cut a highly accurate piece with straight edges, and to smooth them for easy insertion without damaging the rubber O-rings. The first part of the loop: reservoir to pump is complete! More to follow soon... the tricky bit will be the short bend of tube from the radiator to the reservoir...
Awesome. ...Somewhere, someone is trying to figure out how you smoke with it. I blame that 90 sticking out of the pump.
Well, I have thought that I could make some awesome vapers (or bongs... ) but I don't smoke. I am thinking of making my own espresso machine though. There are some logs on the web of people doing stuff like that and I imagine it isn't hard. Just a thermostatically controlled boiler and a spring-loaded mechanical valve with a group head, basically.
I have been away for a long time and when I come back I see this...I may have just crapped my pants a little.
Thanks guys. By the way, stuff is happening in the background, albeit unexciting. I've got the D5 pump (PWM version), and also the EKWB Monarch X2 RAM block with the 'clean' plexi top (no circles) to match the mobo block. Also got the mill: But it still needs setting up. Once that is in place I can crack on.
Nice mill mate what size bed is that? Next thing will be a power feed lol I'm still waiting for my replacement one once you get used to them you can't not have
The bed is 400x145mm (it's upgraded; usually it's 390x92mm). It is not the biggest mill, but at least it won't sink through the loft floor (hopefully... ). SIEG does a power feed but it's not locally available. I can always make my own. I think I've caught your modding tools modding bug. --I already have the gas spring upgrade on order.
