:D It's been an honour to see this beauty Dan :thumb: really spectacular art, 2 months of being possessed to complete it & wow every now & then I think I've seen the highest possible amount of detail in a mod & then something like this comes along :hehe::clap:.

I'd be scared to death of shipping this :eeek:. +rep must spread rep :(

Impressive vision. Incredible workmanship to make it a reality.

Absolute stunning finish, you have turned that case into a beautiful sculpture. Congratulations. :)

    Awesome finish.:D
I'm worried about what happens during shipping, though. You might want to pack the box in another box with a layer of even softer foam.
It will be thrown by a package handler at some point, possibly even while you watch.

Excellent job and well worth the time spent on it.

So much detail and it really does show what modding is all about.

I just hope it get's to it's destination intact as I am sure who ever it is for will be extremely greatfull for all you hard work.

Says the guy who WATERCOOLED A Wii!!! HAHAHA!

Really, thanks Angel OD. It means a lot.

I do plan to layer bubble wrap in there as well. I REALLY hope that will be enough. And I'll insure it for as much as I can I think as well.
The side fan also will come off also. They will have some assembly to do when it gets to them. But it will be minor, and it all goes back exactly like their factory version, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Everyone else, a huge THANK YOU! and I give you +rep and Happy Halloween thoughts! (I have to go make a Rapunzel dress and hair for my daughter now. :)

Dmcgrath can we vote in the competition? Or is it judged? I'm sure us Bittechies would love to support you :D

I really have no idea. Maybe there is a final voting procedure.

I assumed we needed to ship them all back and then they'd be judged side by side.
But that part I have no clue on. We'll know soon enough. I'll keep you posted on that.

I really appreciate the enthusiasm though. Thanks!

The other 3 guys work logs are HERE. You'll want to check them out too.

They may just want a nice photoshoot from you. It would be cheaper for everyone that way. It will save you from the Post Office's legendary corner-drop technique.

-Quit making fun of Angel's Wii. I'm sure his girlfriend is quite fond of it, and that's all that matters.

    Hilarious!!!

I actually meant it more as an affectation than as a jape. But yours is much better. rofl.

    Thanks again guys.

If I had it all do do it over, and had more money and time, I would have definitely set these pieces in a mold of some sort and cast them in resin. I am terrified that wherever it ends up, it will arrive as dust.

My daughter and I are sitting here in utter amazement with long strains of drool hitting the floor. Somehow I managed to miss this log. Absolutely unfreaking incredible. This isn't modding, this is art with a computer stuck inside.

Yeah, I pretty much have zero chance at winning this contest . I knew we were in for a treat when I saw his first carvings. I've had to pry myself away from his worklog just so I could get back to work on my entry! :thumb:

I couldn't help myself. I got in there and did a few more pictures. Using the obligatory 'sheet on the wall' technique.

I've got a decent SLR, Nikon D60, with the regular 18-55mm lens on it. And I used a flash diffuser (a piece of bent white typing paper).

I'm still amazed how a flash can get every tiny little detail (flaw) to show. And I mean things that don't show up to the naked eye. It took the camera's eye for me to see them for the first time. I finally got around to uploading all the pics through my own hosting, now that I just got a bandwidth warning from Photobucket.
I'll post the 800px pick up and a link to the 4MB hiRes versions, if you want to look in more detail at what I did (right and wrong), happy viewing.
