    CPU fan and polishing...

    Allright, it's update time at last, a small one, but still an update :hehe:

    I'm a few days behind of what I promised, but I still had to do some finishing touches to the web page, but it should be ready now.

    Okay, firstly here's the CPU cooler fan installed with hexheads and sleeved also.

    [IMG]

    Looks pretty sweet doesn't it :D

    Next I attacked some alu pieces with a vengeance and the results are nice, really nice...

    Firstly, let me introduce the Hammond junction box which is going to be mounted externally, more on that later, now pics...

    [IMG]

    Some difference can be seen between the cover and the box itself :thumb:

    Next let's see how that baby reflects stuff...

    [IMG]

    [IMG]

    Not too shabby I'd think :D

    Still remember this piece...

    [IMG]

    ...now that's a shine I can live with!

    [IMG]

    The larger piece which covers the hole in the divider plate got the same treatment also, marvel it's beauty, lol.

    [IMG]

    [IMG]

    And finally here's the kind of rca plugs I'm going to be using, Neutrik all the way baby!

    [IMG]

    There you have it, I'm officially back, feels good too :hehe:

    Comments are welcomed as always, let's rock this joint!

    Where did you get that junction box from? Looks damn sweet, I could have use for such thing in some future mod too :naughty: Polishing stuff really pays off, those parts look stunning.

    Because the theme for this case is 'Orange', not 'Chrome'?

    Well there is quite a bit of chrome on there, i didnt neccesarily mean that chrome was the only scheme.

    Plus you are Duste, is it me or is darkened who is running the project, we will leave him to answer the question.

    Just got back from work, so let's answer some questions...

    @Jipa

    The box was bought from Triopak Oy, but I think Elfa and such companies carry Hammonds line of alu boxes. It's not cheap though, the casing I have isn't that large and it cost about 12€ if I don't remember wrong.

    @Mankz

    I don't do MSN, but shoot your questions here or PM me, I'll be happy to answer them.

    @gvblake22

    antiHero has the answer for you, Hyper 6 it is.

    @Mother-Gooser

    Well there has to be a "model", glad you like the new contestant :hehe:

    @antiHero

    From Jimm's actually, but Only4Pro carries it also, though the newer model I think.

    @Naberius

    I've thought about polishing the heatsink shroud (btw. all the parts are hand polished, not chromed), but I didn't find any reasonable way to dismantle it, so it'll have to be just anodised. I might have something for that area that you'll find pleasing though.

    I think that was about it, thanks for all of your comments, more to come in a day or two. And as always, keep on commenting!

    Excellent job metal-polishing. I know that is not much fun to do, but worth it in the end. The little Alu junction box is great, I could think of a number uses for one (or two) of those
    looks great Dark.

    Looks great, comrad!
    But! All that polishing and youre not even gonna tell us what you
    used to pull it off? I know you had some problems with the metal
    at first..

    Anyways, good job, looking forward to the Heatsink "thingy" (Plexiglass perhaps?)

    Hey all, got some work done today, but not enough for an update.

    Update is coming probably tomorrow and it might even have some lighting tests...we'll see :hehe:

    @chase

    I actually forgot to tell you about the method. Well nothing new actually, just more of it :D The break point was when I figured out that the "hazy" layer comes off with Autosol and a b***hload of handpolishing. After that I moved onto AutoGlym which has less cut and gives that nice finish pretty fast. For some reason Mothers doesn't work with this alu that well, so I'm sticking with AutoGlym.

    Well at least there's one problem less even if it means lots more work. And that means that I can move on to the next thing...wiring! That'll be the show for the next updates to come, as well as some custom alu wireholders...you'll see :hehe:

    That's all for now, weekends to everybody.

    It's AutoGlym Metal Polish and it comes in a tube. Shouldn't be too hard to find from Norway.
