So I need a new monitor preferably 1920x1080. Buget: £150. Uses: Gaming and video editing. IPS monitors seem too expensive and i think LED backlight is a bad choice. Thanks
BenQ G2420HD, if you can, it's the 24" bigger brother to my G2220HD (21.5") 1080P native, will take VGA/DVI input. There may be better out there, but the G2220 is one of the best screens I've used. (Not saying much, my previous screen was a Samsung Syncmaster 170MB, manufactured 1999) I'm sure someone will find some Dell monitor made from spare Chuck Norris parts that fits your budget, but I can offer the BenQ as an alternative. Also the G2420 goes for a few pence over 150 on Scan.co.uk (£150.29 at time of posting) All in all: It's a reliable, effective screen that should fit your needs, it might not have the "Wow!" factor of high-end IPS panel, but it's cheap, effective, and reliable.
Check out the LG IPS-236V-PN LED It is an LED back light, glossy frame (not the screen), and non adjustable stand (other than tilt) BUT it is an IPS panel, at an affordable price. Alternatively, a bit more expensive (check eRetailers for better prices than Dell U.K)) the Dell U2311H, full matte, fully adjustable and solid stand. Still IPS panel, high grade CFL back light. Another choice, cheaper, better back light spreading (still IPS and high grade CFL back light, same stand), and a bit better out of the box box (all points compared to the U2311H), the Dell 2209WA. But it's 22inch and low resolution.
The Dell U2311H is £228 @ CCL Online and you get free delivery as a member here: http://www.cclonline.com/product-info.asp?product_id=66285. The LG IPS236V-PN is £163 excl del @ Okobe or LambdaTek: http://www.okobe.co.uk/ws/product/L...idecreen+LED+LCD+Monitor/1000039750?ref=1q4bs or http://www.lambda-tek.com/componentshop/index.pl?origin=gbase23.5&prodID=B572397.
Thanks for the suggestions guys, +Rep for all. The LG IPS236V-PN would be the best choice but is out of stock everywhere. The G2420HD looks like the best option so far so I should pick one up by next week unless anything else crops up. Thanks for the help!
The best option is to wait, and get the LG one. I laugh to so hard when I saw the BenQ G2420HD official product page. They have nothing to say about it, so they say that 16:9 displays are better than 16:10, while it's the reverse. Also they add on how 16:10 distorted images... riiight.
Okay so U2311H at that price is an absolute bargin! However, I'm lost as to how I get the cashback thing. If I click on the link through quidco do i just search for the U2311H and add to basket?
I think i have it almost... :s Right if i buy it through Small buisness i can get 10% Cashback and 5% off. But I still have to pay £16.80 postage
Sorry can't help you there. I never checked U.K online stores. But please, come back with your reaction once you get it. Your opinion is important for me to know, in better helping others.
