Hmm... only just noticed this log. I liked where it was going, until I saw the final paint job :(

    Very good work though :thumb:

Hey Buddha, nice looking case. Great theme, great follow-through. Nice to have a back-story to tie everything together. Regarding the Kanji (Chinese) characters near your optical drive... do you know what they mean? In Japanese they mean:

The top character is "nishi" - West
The bottom one is "aka" - Red

Where did you get them from?

Well now, its funny you should ask. It part of another great sci-fi classic. Bladerunner! It's the license plate of Deckers car that I remade. I don’t have it handy, so I will post a pic of it tomorrow.

    edit: here it is

Holy bejeezus crap! This is a long thread. Very nice work and an excellent idea chopping the case. We might just start calling you the dragonslayer. *cymbal crash* Really, very well executed from top to bottom. I want to hear the story and I can't wait for a new update.

Coolermaster cases are great cases, but there is no reason why you cant mod it. if you like the way mine looks. try and make your own. If you just go the paint route its very ecomonical.

In anyevent - if your unhappy with your case: then mod it! :dremel:

    LAST UPDATE

Well it's supposed to be the last. I reserve the right to make changes, and I do plan on making a matching frame for the lcd screen.

Here are some pic's on the security card. All it is a rocker switch that interrupts the power to the pc on switch. Pull the card out and no power goes to the on switch so when you push it, nutton happens! put the card in (or anything that about the same size) and it works. More looks than functionality, but it adds to the cool factor. NOTE: the pics have a different odd shade to them because I was getting to much glare in the photos, I am not an expert photographer, but to get rid of the glare I put two layers of masking tape over the flash. Glare gone... :D

    Here are some pic's:

Front, door closed - a small magnet holds the door closed, it doesnt seem to bother the pc.

I rarely join the caravan of "WONDERFUL JOB" guys, but this time I must admit you've done a perfect work: each detail fits perfectly the main theme.... And your painting skills are great!

    TREMENDOUSLY WONDERFUL JOB!

    whats next

Actually I have to make 5 cases in the same basic theme. Paint, windows and lights only - its a paying job. I plan on posting a log for the builds and I also plan to go into a lot of detail on how I painted the case. All the cases will fit in with the Aliens world (or my interpertation of it) but each one will be unique as to a company or ship that is owned by the Weyland-Yutani company. That will start in a week or so. For now, time to stress test Perforated at a LAN......
