.::Log Entry::. All I did yesterdat was cut the 110mm holes in the front bezel and cut the pipe to lengh. Ive since started with the car filler and instead of doing the usual turbine intake design and having them flush with the bezel im leaving them protruding around 40mm and blending them with the filler to make them look really dramatic and over the top.
A few updates, I wasn't sure on the shape of it untill the last a few shots which show its current state Then we chopped a lump of filler out of the centre and sanded it smooth, ready for the next stage- car filler. All for now...
I am impressed. You've abviously got some good skills there. Your cutting from what I can see is excellent. Really nice case. What spec are you hoping to put into it? I also wonder if you'll keep the stealthy black look? Will there be water cooling? I hope so!
Cheers Gar, Spec wise I will just get the best I can afford but will probably be nothing special for now sadly, the original plan was to do it black but after a change of heart im going for a bright glossy colour, possibly orange.
.::Log Entry::. 1. filled the original led lense thingy for the HDD activity/power LEDs. 2. cut an oval which I will go into greater detail later in the project. Ready for a bit more wet and dry before painting.
We will hopefully be priming everything within the next few days, ready for paint: We will also be spraying the front of a fan controller to match, which has a few removable faces to practise on and we will spray it from behind so the white markings still show on top.
Not much of an update: Found a piece of scrap aluminium Cut it to shape smoothed the edges. This is going to be used to mount toggle switches to control the lights inside the case and for the power/reset switches etc. P.S. We will also either polish the surface of it or make little swirls on it like this:
Done alot of the painting this weekend, 1.We sprayed the primer: 2.Sprayed the chassis black: 3.Sprayed the side panels and the front of the fan controller blue: We also sprayed the front panel but that needs a bit work yet and once everything is sprayed we will start with lacquer. Parts left to spray: 2 optical drives floppy drive front panel top panel (when its complete)
All I did today was spray one of the optical drives: Shaved the badges, sprayed the casing matt black to match the chassis and the front facia in the same blue as the rest of the panels (yes I know I havn't done the little wheelie thing yet ).
Looking good. That's some nice body work you've done there on the front bezel. Well hurry up then Your next update should be interesting. Look forward to it.
The front (Its really hard to capture the true colour with my photography skills): (All the paintwork will be polished up in the final stages) 1 optical drives floppy drive top panel (when its complete)
Mounted the V meter: Also decided to stealth the two optical drives instead of just paintinig the fronts but didn't have any spare blank covers so we cut a couple of aluminium ones and panited them to match:
Blue Nostrils? Nice name for it, but they look great, nice blue mattalic blue paint, very shiny! And nice advert for Quality Street in the background of one of the pictures, a great mid-mod treat!
